The little neighbourhood of Molinàs was founded in the late eighteenth century on a valley among the Alberes Mountains, just 4 kms from the center of Colera village. At this point various water streams converge so flour mills were built here, and also vineyards and olive fields were planted. During the twentieth century the rural environment of Molinàs was gradually depopulated and today is a mute testimony of that past. Querroig Castle is in Portbou, 670 meters above sea level, on the first mountain of the Pyrenees near the Mediterranean sea, separating Spain from France. We have the first references to this castle in the tenth century, when it was the northernmost tower defense of the Ampurias County.
