Featuring rooms with balconies, Hotel Miami is just 500 ft from Tossa de Mar Beach. This small, family-run hotel offers a cafe-bar with a terrace.
The simple rooms at the Miami have private bathrooms. Some also feature flat-screen TVs.
Guests can enjoy a daily buffet breakfast and take-away meals are prepared at the cafe-bar. Guests can relax in the lounge, where there is satellite TV.
The Miami is just a 5-minute walk from the center of the medieval town of Tossa de Mar and the old city walls are half a mile away. The picturesque countryside surrounding the town is ideal for hiking and the nearest golf course is 6 miles away.

Imagine a place where travelling through time, back to the past. Tossa de Mar is something like an outdoor museum. Its prehistoric remains from roman Turissa go through the medieval Tursa into modern Tossa. Once a meeting point for intellectuals (Marc Chagall, Picasso), now a very beloved touristic destination, Tossa de Mar is one of the most beautiful village in the Costa Brava.
Tossa de Mar is one of those typical coastal towns of the Empordà, where we find the pines growing and reaching sea, almost touching the water.
Tossa's economy, some centuries ago, was based on the cork and wine industry. However, the filming of 'Pandora' in 1950 (starring Ava Gardner), parallel to the beginning of the village as a tourist destination on the Costa Brava, turned this beautiful coastal location into one of the best known around the world. For this reason tourism has become the main economic engine of the town during last decades.
Tossa's origins are pre-Roman. Known as Turissa, it enjoys an exceptional geographic location, situated between Lloret de Mar (south) and Sant Feliu de Guixols (north). To get there you must take the road GI-682, which passes through the two mentioned locations. Both coming from Lloret and from Sant Feliu, the views from the road are fantastic. It is almost obligatory stop at one of the many panoramic viewpoints marked through the edge of the road to watch and take pictures of the views of the creeks that are visible from there. Through this way you can access beautiful and spectacular beaches such as Cala Giverola, Cala del Senyor Raimon, Cala Vallpresona, Cala Canyet, etc.
From Roman times Tossa still keeps the villa of Els Ametllers, located in av. of Pelegri, 3-5, near the Torre de Sant Magí (St. Magí Tower). Discovered by Dr. Ignasi Melee in 1914, it has its origin in the first century BC and was inhabited until the sixth century AD. It's really a great honor to Tossa to have one of the best towns in the former province of Tarraco, which has survived until today. In els Ametllers the owners cultivated grapes and exported wine to the rest of the Roman Empire. It is therefore a classic example of farming in the Mediterranean area dominated by the Romans.
Already in the center of town, you have to visit the walled enclosure, which is exactly the Vila Vella de Tossa. Listed as National Historic-Artistic Monument by the Spanish government, its walls now represent the only example of a fortified medieval town on the Catalan coast. It is composed of seven watchtowers (including, for example, d'en Joan, Codolar and Heures).
It is highly recommended to walk through the streets of this small walled area and get to the Faro de Tossa (Tossa Lighthouse), which overlooks a magnificent view of the rocky coastline south of village.
Tossa Lighthouse (1917), located on the highest part of the Vila Vella de Tossa has become the Lighthouse Interpretation Centre (Centro de Interpretación de Faros) of our coastline. This innovative equipment in the museum domain is a point of reference for all those interested in the world of maritime signals. It is an audiovisual center, adapted to visitors in several languages that teaches us the history and the different technologies used in the world of lighthouses and the lifestyle of their guardians, the lighthouse keepers. The space devoted to museum gives us the chance to see different parts of this maritime heritage.
Outside the Walls, bounded by the streets Portal and Estolt, you find the district of Sa Roqueta, a traditional place of fishermen formed in the first stage of Tossa urban expansion, back in the XVI century. Further, following the street Portal, is the commercial center of town.
The walk along the seafront of Tossa, from the walls to the beach of Mar Menuda is also a nice experience. This tour will allow you to enjoy the sea and the spectacular views of the Cape of Tossa and the fortified ancient villa previously described.
The Municipal Museum, housed in the Batlle Palace, bears testimony to the passage through Tossa of Marc Chagall, André Masson, Joaquim Sunyer and other painters captivated by this landscape.
Tossa boasts fine beaches such as Llorell and Morisca, and one of the most beautiful stretches on this coastline: the road to Sant Feliu de Guíxols (twenty-five kilometres of bend after bend) through the coves of Salions, Futadera, Giverola and Pola.

My favorite hotel in Tossa de Mar. Run by the long-time proprietor, it's a family hotel- but the family grew up and went away years ago, and now mostly drop in for evening meals on the restaurant/terrace. Nice. Honest. Plenty of space, not updated with modern interior-design anonymous hotel tack (more like ymca furniture!), large clean whitewashed rooms with bathroom and balcony. Ridiculously low price at end of season.You get a cupboard elsewhere in town for that same price. About 100m from bus terminal, 100m from the town supermarket - best place to stay for me since I'm commuting to a site out of town. Beach would be about 5m walk if I went. It's not for people looking for the resort experience! More like a mountain-top refuge (in town) for experienced travelers who want something reliably clean and light and spacious with no frills at all on a small budget. Nothing. The plastic upholstery on the seats in the rooms is getting old now, but it's still there! |

The best part of the Hotel Miami was its location, 7 mins from the beach and next to the bus station. By far this is worst hotel were we have stayed. The hotel was old and smelly. The service was really bad. When we arrived we were waiting for around 10 mins. The hygiene was very poor, the bed sheets had spots and the bathroom couldn't be closed, otherwise were stuck (we had to kicked the door to open it!). At night there was too much noise coming from the bars but also from the others rooms (We assume they have similar problems with the doors). And so on, there more problems. We decided don't let to ruin our holidays and finally we spent most of the days outside and used the hotel just at night. |

Hotel Miami is a bargain if you're on a budget. My second stay - it's friendly, family-run, and in one of my favourite Costa Brava towns, a short walk from the sea, shops and dozens of places to eat. No wi-fi. Probably won't stay here next time I visit on business because of this - I need it to work. |

When I booked it included breakfast and I only found out that that was now an extra. The hotel is in need of some refurbishment particularly the bathroom. Very little change in the 10 years that I have stayed there. |

For young people, who don't need luxury it is great. My room was clean and nice. The huge advantage is his localization. 150 metres from Bus Station in Tossa and 250 metres from the beach. I can really recommend it. Hotel Miami is noisy, because of the main street near it. There is no air conditioning, so You have to have windows open. |

Staff were great, it was quiet so they gave me a better room They kept my bike safe at night although parking was not included Hotel is basic but very good value for money and great location 5 mins walk to the beach The Irishman in reception is super friendly and a source of knowledge in the region, and the teenager is also very friendly they all work to make your stay pleasant and easy, I was very pleased and I would come back It would be great if they had wifi but this wasn't a great deal as there are lots of places around that have it |

La relacion calidad precio es muy buena, el personal es amable,cogimos una oferta de habitacion a patio por 30 euros y nos dieron una habitació exterior con balcon. El hotel esta bien situada a 5 minutos de la playa andando y tiene ascensor Los muebles era antiguos, pero la habitación estaba limpia. No tiene parking pero es fácil aparcar en las cercanías |

El personal es muy simpático y agradable. La ubicación es muy buena, aunque pone que está a 150m de la playa cosa que no es así pero aun y todo no esta mal ubicado. Los precios del bar si eres cliente son fantásticos y si no lo eres no está nada mal la verdad. El ruido que hay en el hotel. Escuché vomitar a la de la habitación de al lado sin exagerar como si lo hiciera en mi habitación. Escuche a los niños de al lado gritar como si lo hicieran en nuestra habitación. La televisión tiene un limite de sonido y no se oye nada a no ser que cierres las ventanas y te mueras de calor dentro. Ah! Y ya les tuvimos que suplicar al servicio de limpieza que por favor echaran algo para fumigar las hormigas que se nos lleno la ducha de ellas. |

En general el hotel por ser de una estrella es correcto y esta bien ubicado. El único fallo y creo que es importante porque esta clase de hoteles es para ducharte y dormir, es que el colchon de matrimonio ( al menos en nuestra habitación ) era malisimo , se torcia por los lados y tenias que hacer maravillas para no clavarte los muelles, lástima de esto porque por lo demas era bastante correcto. |

La persona que nos atendió en recepción fue muy amable. La ubicación en Tossa está muy bien, cerca del centro y playas, pero nada bullicioso. Hotel muy anticuado. Mobiliario muy antiguo, las paredes muy sucias, el cuarto de baño diminuto. La ducha estaba taponada. La cortina de la ducha no llegaba al suelo, con lo que el agua caía en el suelo del cuarto de baño. Había un balconcito, con mesita y dos sillas muy sucias, que daba a un muro con tuberías...horroroso. El hotel necesita una actualización. El servicio en la terraza para desayunar fue muy poco atento. Por todo ello, creo que el precio es demasiado caro para la calidad recibida. No volveremos. |
