Set 450 metres from Tossa de Mar sandy Beach, Horta Rossell offers 24-hour reception and free luggage storage. Buses to Girona Airport leave from a bus stop located 250 metres away.
Simply decorated, rooms at Horta Rossell come with single beds and a private bathroom with free toiletries and bath or shower. Bed linen and towels are provided and all rooms have a private balcony.
The restaurant inside the property serves a breakfast till late every morning and you can enjoy a drink in the garden at Horta Rossell’s bar. Packed lunches are also available at reception.
Villa Vella and its picturesque castle in Tossa de Mar is a 5-minute walk from the hotel. Bike and car rentals are available at tour desk and staff can arrange several outdoors activities and excursions to nearby cities such as Barcelona. You can reach Lloret de Mar in 30 minutes by public transports.

Imagine a place where travelling through time, back to the past. Tossa de Mar is something like an outdoor museum. Its prehistoric remains from roman Turissa go through the medieval Tursa into modern Tossa. Once a meeting point for intellectuals (Marc Chagall, Picasso), now a very beloved touristic destination, Tossa de Mar is one of the most beautiful village in the Costa Brava.
Tossa de Mar is one of those typical coastal towns of the Empordà, where we find the pines growing and reaching sea, almost touching the water.
Tossa's economy, some centuries ago, was based on the cork and wine industry. However, the filming of 'Pandora' in 1950 (starring Ava Gardner), parallel to the beginning of the village as a tourist destination on the Costa Brava, turned this beautiful coastal location into one of the best known around the world. For this reason tourism has become the main economic engine of the town during last decades.
Tossa's origins are pre-Roman. Known as Turissa, it enjoys an exceptional geographic location, situated between Lloret de Mar (south) and Sant Feliu de Guixols (north). To get there you must take the road GI-682, which passes through the two mentioned locations. Both coming from Lloret and from Sant Feliu, the views from the road are fantastic. It is almost obligatory stop at one of the many panoramic viewpoints marked through the edge of the road to watch and take pictures of the views of the creeks that are visible from there. Through this way you can access beautiful and spectacular beaches such as Cala Giverola, Cala del Senyor Raimon, Cala Vallpresona, Cala Canyet, etc.
From Roman times Tossa still keeps the villa of Els Ametllers, located in av. of Pelegri, 3-5, near the Torre de Sant Magí (St. Magí Tower). Discovered by Dr. Ignasi Melee in 1914, it has its origin in the first century BC and was inhabited until the sixth century AD. It's really a great honor to Tossa to have one of the best towns in the former province of Tarraco, which has survived until today. In els Ametllers the owners cultivated grapes and exported wine to the rest of the Roman Empire. It is therefore a classic example of farming in the Mediterranean area dominated by the Romans.
Already in the center of town, you have to visit the walled enclosure, which is exactly the Vila Vella de Tossa. Listed as National Historic-Artistic Monument by the Spanish government, its walls now represent the only example of a fortified medieval town on the Catalan coast. It is composed of seven watchtowers (including, for example, d'en Joan, Codolar and Heures).
It is highly recommended to walk through the streets of this small walled area and get to the Faro de Tossa (Tossa Lighthouse), which overlooks a magnificent view of the rocky coastline south of village.
Tossa Lighthouse (1917), located on the highest part of the Vila Vella de Tossa has become the Lighthouse Interpretation Centre (Centro de Interpretación de Faros) of our coastline. This innovative equipment in the museum domain is a point of reference for all those interested in the world of maritime signals. It is an audiovisual center, adapted to visitors in several languages that teaches us the history and the different technologies used in the world of lighthouses and the lifestyle of their guardians, the lighthouse keepers. The space devoted to museum gives us the chance to see different parts of this maritime heritage.
Outside the Walls, bounded by the streets Portal and Estolt, you find the district of Sa Roqueta, a traditional place of fishermen formed in the first stage of Tossa urban expansion, back in the XVI century. Further, following the street Portal, is the commercial center of town.
The walk along the seafront of Tossa, from the walls to the beach of Mar Menuda is also a nice experience. This tour will allow you to enjoy the sea and the spectacular views of the Cape of Tossa and the fortified ancient villa previously described.
The Municipal Museum, housed in the Batlle Palace, bears testimony to the passage through Tossa of Marc Chagall, André Masson, Joaquim Sunyer and other painters captivated by this landscape.
Tossa boasts fine beaches such as Llorell and Morisca, and one of the most beautiful stretches on this coastline: the road to Sant Feliu de Guíxols (twenty-five kilometres of bend after bend) through the coves of Salions, Futadera, Giverola and Pola.

Very nice staff, helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is small and cozy and very soon you start feeling homelike. The location is convenient; it took us about 10 minutes to walk to the beaches. The hotel has a lovely backyard where the breakfast is served. At nights it also operates as a restaurant with live music sometimes. There is an air circuit or so in the bathroom which makes you hear perfectly well everything that's happening in other bathrooms. Sometimes we felt unpleasant smell in our bathroom as well. All balconies practically make one long balcony so you may experience lack of privacy. |

Tossa de Mar è un luogo perfetto per una vacanza rilassante con la famiglia. Comunque vicina (una decoina di Km.) alla più caotica Lloret de Mar e un'ora da Barcellona. La città è molto pulita e confortevole, il mare splendido e l'acqua pulitissima. Ottimo posto anche per immersioni. Mangiare fuori è l'ideale (non prendete formule all inclusive): si mangia molto bene ovunque spendendo circa 10-12 euro a testa (se non esageri). Ogni sera abbiamo mangiato in un locale diverso, tutti carini e caratteristici. A pranzo un mega panino fatto al momento in un negozio di alimentari (euro 3.50 il più caro e ci mangiavamo in due tanto era grosso!). Abbiamo anche comprato della frutta da mangiare in spiaggia. La struttura (Horta Rosell) è molto semplice, in centro Tossa e a 10 minuti a piedi dalla spiaggia e la camminata era sempre gradevole perché ogni volta prendevamo un percorso diverso. Il personale è veramente molto cordiale e sempre disponibile. Molto carino il Mojito party del giovedi con il mojito a 3 euro (anziché 5). Una nota sulla spiaggia: molto pulita e grandissima (è una spiaggia libera servizio noleggio ombrelloni e lettini molto economico) però non c'è sabbia ma una ghiaietta piccola che a camminarci scalzi è un po' dolorosa, idem per entrare e uscire dall'acqua (sempre pulitissima e ricca di pesci anche a riva). Il fondale degrada velocemente e dopo 4-5 metri già non si tocca. Sulla spiaggia ci sono due colonnine per farsi la doccia (acqua fredda ma gratis). Bagnino sempre presente ma forse uno solo è poco per una spiaggia così grande. Riguardo la struttura devo dire che mi ha dato molto fastidio la rumorosità: le camere non sono minimamente insonorizzate e sentivamo tutte le voci provenienti dal corridoio, dal bar (eravamo al primo piano) e sopratutto le voci del giardino dove ogni sera la gente si fermava a bere ascoltando musica live. Molto carino il tutto, si, ma ad una certa ora, sopratutto chi ha bambini, vorrebbe addormentarsi tranquillo. Le camere sono veramente piccole, umili ed essenziali. Solo letti singoli, non matrimoniali. Il bagno nuovissimo e pulitissimo (non c'è il bidet). Il phon non c'è e va chiesto alla reception, se ne hanno disponibili te lo danno. Nell'armadio a muro, spazioso abbastanza ma con porte rumorose e cigolanti che se apri un'anta di notte svegli tutti. Dentro l'armadio una cassaforte che però costa 4 euro al giorno o 20 euro la settimana. Un confortevole balcone ma senza possibilità di stendere (abbiamo dovuto comprare le mollette ed un cavo per farci uno stenditoio sfruttando la ringhiera del balcone. La colazione era sempre la stessa ogni mattina con non molte scelte (tre o quattro tipi di brioches, toast, marmellatine confezinate, yogurt e succhi vari. Caffè e cappuccino) e comunque non cibi di elevatissima qualità, anche se gradevoli (la brioches del bar è un'altra cosa). Tutto sommato, valutando il costo contenuto e la centralità della struttura va benissimo per famiglie e ci siamo trovati tutto sommato bene. L'unica cosa fastidiosa era, ripeto, l'eccessiva rumorosità della camera, spesso enfatizzata da qualche famiglia rumorosa e non curante del rispetto altrui. |

Las fotos son de rincones muy concretos y no reflejan la realidad de las habitaciones, hall..... Oíamos a nuestros amigos por el shunt del baño, que estaban en otra planta. Mala relación calidad precio. Pagamos 120 euros por una noche. El desayuno horrible, el zumo de bote, los bizcochos, galletas,...casi de plástico. |

Estuvimos una semana hospedados,la habitación recién reformada con mucho gusto pero sin grandes pretensiones. Aunque lo que mas nos gusto del hostal es la terraza que es preciosa y que se esta muy bien tomando mojitos y cañas. Aunque lo que mas hay que destacar es el personal del hostal, son todos encantadores, nos recomendaron y nos ayudaron siempre que lo necesitamos. El poco aislamiento de las habitaciones. |

Defekter Lattenrost. Keine Ac,bloss Ventilator den man mittels Verlängerungskabel irgendwie anschliessen muss und dauernd über das Kabel stolpert weil es nur eine Steckdose im Zimmer hat. Distanz zum Meer etliches länger als die angegebenen 400m. Grosser Strand wird von Touristenschiffen angefahren.Sand eher grobkörnig. Fleischmarkt¨! Es gibt aber noch einen kleinen Strand in einer Bucht-der ist beiweitem charmanter,jedoch nur für gute Schwimmer empfehlenswert. In den Sommermonaten ist Tossa komplett überlaufen. |

Merecen una mención la chica de la recepción que a parte ayudarnos en reservar mesa en un restaurante fue muy agradable en toda nuestra estancia y la chica del desayuno, simpatica ,sonrientes que también supo aconsejarnos muy bien. Cuando se elige un alojamiento de este tipo es justo lo que uno debería encontrar, un buen servicio, cercano y personalizado en todo momento.Nuestra experiencia en este hostal fue muy buena. Colchones cómodos y cuarto de baños impolutos. Desayuno muy bueno y se puede disfrutar en la terraza. Me ha gustado casi todo. Mencionaré unos detalles que creo que mejorando podrían hacer la estancia en este alojamiento más agradable. Las puertas de las habitaciónes no aislan del ruido exterior que proviene de la escalera y las paredes son poco insonorizadas.He echado de menos una pequeña tele de plasma. Todo los demás muy bien. El hostal estaba lleno y es verdad que se escucha el abrir y cerrar de las puertas durante la noche, pero yo pude dormir bien igualmente. |

Gostei muito da equipe do Horta Rossel. Eles foram muito atenciosos e demonstraram estar sempre atentos aos hospedes. O espaço também é bem legal, com um belo jardim na parte externa. A localização é boa, pois fica ao lado da estação de ônibus e menos de dez minutos da praia. A rede wifi não chega nos quartos. |
