The Girona History Museum is located in a former convent of Capuchin monks, from seventeenth century. The architectural set is of great interest since the building includes the former Capuchin cemetery (where corpses were kept dry), an ancient XIII century Romanesque fountain in the courtyard terrace, the cloister, the cellar and the tank / coal. The permanent exhibition includes historical evolution of Girona from prehistoric times to democracy. The most important piece in the collection the collection is the famous Roman Circus Mosaic, from III-IV centuries AD. This museum makes a very active educational work and therefore organizes guided tours, exhibitions, lectures and multiple parallel activities.
