Barraca d'en Dali

Salvador Dalí, the best world-known surrealist painter of the Costa Brava, visited many times a great friend called Puig Palau, during 50's and 60's, in Mas Juny villa, next to Es Castell Beach, Palamós. Some decades before, during the 20's and 30's Josep Maria Sert painter also lived in this Mas Juny, and Dalí also came here. Puig Palau decided to build this little hut, la Barraca d'en Dalí, as a gift to the painter to be used as a workshop. But Dalí preferred Portlligat home and landscapes to create, so he was very grateful for the gift, made some photographs next to it, but it is improbable that he painted any picture inside. Nevertheless, many tourists love taking photographs in front of the particular inclined door, no doubt a courtesy Puig i Palau had towards the most surrealist artist.
