Santo Domingo Convent

Address:Plaça Sant Domènec, 11. 17004 Girona

The Santo Domingo Convent is no more a religious building, but a facility belonging to the University of Girona. It is a thirteenth-century Gothic building with a single nave and side chapels between the buttresses. The cloister (the upper arch was added in the sixteenth century) is one of the most beautiful of its kind in Catalonia, and although it was damaged by the ravages of the War of Independence against France in 1809, it has been restored.
