The old Poor Clares convent was originally built in 1260 outside the walls of Castello d'Empuries. However, due to the attacks it suffered during the wars, especially that of 1655, when it was destroyed by French troops, it was rebuilt on the current place, next to the Basilica of Santa Maria de Ampurias, in 1683. The set, of a certain austerity, consists of a church with a single nave and a cloister around which were the monastic cells. Today it is part of the cultural life of the village and there are painting exhibitions opened to the public.
