Requesens Castle is located on the Albera Mountains, in a magnificent natural environment, more than 500 meters high above the sea. To get there you'll have to do a foot walking tour of about an hour from the village of Cantallops. The castle appears as documented in the XIth century and was the subject of dispute between the counties of Roussillon and Ampúrias. The current look is mostly the result of the reconstruction carried out in the XIXth century and it is so interesting that some films, as 'Perfume: The Story of a Murderer' (2006), have been partially filmed here.
