Prestige Mar y Sol is in Roses
South of the Albera Range, Roses Bay forms a deep inlet in the coastline some 15 km long, with long sandy beaches and marshland. It is bounded by the Cap de Creus peninsula to the north and the Montgrí massif to the south.
Rhode and Emporion, located at either end of the bay, were the gateways through which Greek culture entered the country. Both have developed into major tourist resorts: Roses in the north and L’Escala to the south.
Roses is the charming fishing village of Alt Empordà that welcomes visitors to the doors of the Cap de Creus Natural Park (Parc Natural del Cap de Creus).
The origins of Roses date back the VIII century BC, with the arrival and establishment of the Rhodian, originating from the Greek island of Rhodes. Its name comes from this origins. Trade and the Roman occupation of this place have made a melting pot that explains the mood of a very modern, open, active and generous population.
Roses touristic points of interest are many and very different among them. Faced with the great natural landscapes that offer their creeks: Cala Montjoi, Cala Canyelles, Cala Jóncols, Cala Murtra, Cala Lledó, Cala Rustella, etc. you can also find cultural highlights of great interest as the route of the dolmens (dolmen Creu d'en Cobertella, Llit de la Generala, Cap de l'Home, Casa Cremada), also the Museum of Ciutadella (Citadel), the Castle of Santa Trinitat, Roses the Lighthouse and many other. Roses also has the largest fishing port in northern Costa Brava.
The cultural and musical offer of Roses is extensive and includes lectures, rock and blues festivals, exhibitions, concerts of various types of music and more. In summer the village hosts one of the major music festivals in the Costa Brava: Sons of Món (Sound of the World).
he best time to stroll by the harbour, one of the busiest on the Costa Brava, is in the evening, when the fishing boats sail in with their escort of gulls.
The terraces are an invitation to sit and chat, while the fortified precinct of the Ciutadella, built in the 16th century by Charles V to protect the region from pirates, merits a leisurely visit. Inside this vast fortress are the remains of the Greek colony of Rhode, founded in the 4th century BC, and the Benedictine Monastery of Santa Maria. All kinds of water sports can be practised at Roses, off the town’s own beaches of fine sand and in the coves of L’Almadrava, Montjoi and Jòncols.

The coast of Roses is full of contrasts. The name of Roses has been linked in recent years to the figure of the excellent chef Ferran Adrià, worldwide well-known for its innovative cuisine. Its famous restaurant, El Bulli, located in the idyllic Cala Montjoi, has become the El Bulli Foundation, a center of culinary research.

Big and airy rooms, nice bathroom and of course the view. Breakfast was good with selection of fruits and some eggs/bacon. Coffee was not bad. The kitchenette was out of shape and didn't have anything except few plates and forks - but fridge worked well and that was most important. Bed was short! |

Parking would be a problem and expensive high season, fortunately when we stayed there were no parking charges on the road outside the hotel and we did manage to park. Restaurant very expensive, overpriced. Eur15 or more for 4 small prawns! We only ate there one lunch time. Very pleasant staff, however this did not compensate for prices. Large room with kitchenette area with 1 dirty cup and a few saucers, we did not need this anyway but some people might. Very dated bathroom in desperate need of refurbishment. Poor shower - no power, bad tiling. Not particularly clean! Cold scrambled eggs for breakfast, not pleasant. Did not like balcony which I would think could be dangerous for very young children - open gratings all the way to floor. |

I booked this hotel for my parents who are 79 and 77 years old. On the reservation page I added that they were "old people". The receptionist, a lady, mentioned to them that the person who reserved on line for them had said they were old and in her opinion they weren'T. On many occasions she laughed and joked about this. Although my parents are elderly, they are physically fit but advanced in their years and her repeated remakes caused a tension in our relationship during their stay in Roses and they were angry and insulted by the fact that I had stated they were "old". I think she should have been more discret about this subject.I Must add that the other receptionists were very polite and friendly. The location is excellent. The value was very good, especially with a young family. The room was large enough to sleep 4 with an old pull out couch. The restaurant was excellent but very expensive. Our meal with 2 adults and 2 children was 117 Euros.The hotel is under renovation on some of the floors makes a little much needed dust now but will be well worth the new. New furniture is needed. |

Das Hotel ist aufgrund seiner Lage in Roses sehr empfehlenswert. Auch wenn wir in der Nebensaison dort waren und es im Sommer bestimmt viel lauter ist, stellt der kurze Weg zum Zentrum und die Lage direkt im Zentrum einen Pluspunkt dar. Das Personal ist außerdem sehr freundlich und mehrsprachig.Das Frühstück ist auf jeden Fall auch lohnenswert. Es gibt ein reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet. Ich habe mir außerdem sagen lassen, dass man unten im Restaurant außerdem auch sehr gut essen kann. Schließlich war unser Zimmer - wenn auch nicht mit direktem Meerblick - richtig groß, mit Schlafzimmer und Wohnzimmer / Küche. Ein ausgezeichnetes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis! Das Parken ist nicht so einfach, da das Hotel nicht über eigene Parkplätze verfügt. |

La situación es genial porque está delante del paseo marítimo. El precio es lo mejor que tiene, además por poco dinero entra el desayuno. Dormimos en una triple, que en realidad es un sofá cama no demasiado cómodo si lo que se quiere es dormir más de un día. También tiene un office con neverita, fogones y pica. En la web del hotel está información no está. En resumen, correcto, sin grandes pretensiones. El desayuno generoso: tanto salado como dulce (pan de payés con tomate, embutidos, quesos, zumo de naranja de bote, cafe no exprés pero correcto, donuts, ensaimadas, croissanes, bizcocho, magdalenas, huevos revuletos, bacon, fruta, yogures..). Nadie nos pidió identificación para desayunar, por lo que me da la sensación que se puede colar cualquiera. Es un hotel correcto y bien de precio para visitar la zona y solamente usar el hotel para ducharse y dormir. El inconveniente es que no tiene parking y nos costó encontrar aparcamiento. En verano seguramente es una locura. El baño antiguo, le hace falta una reforma. Lo peor: que tienes que pagar nada más entrar y que el wifi es de pago y carísimo. Además echo en falta una sala para estar con los niños, descansar en sofas para tomar alguna copa o ver la tele. |

la litterie tres confortable la propreté des lieux j'ai payé un supplément pour avoir vue sur la mer (une fenetre ) alors que précédemment j'avais obtenu un balcon vue sur la mer sans supplément dans un hotel voisin . De plus ,étant un dimanche ,nous sommes descendus un peu tard : 10 h05 et là , à notre surprise le petit dejeuner etait deja desservi nous n'avons eu droit qu'à un café !! dommage!! |

je conseille cet établissement car il se trouve vraiement au centre de Rosas et en plus la vue sur la Mer le matin est très agréable. Ne mangez pas de croissant le matin, mais le reste est très bon ! |

La taille de la chambre pas de parking Internet payant et nous sommes en 2014!! c'est scandaleux .... Réceptionniste et serveur/ses nonchalants. Il faisait froid dans la chambre pendant les 2 nuits Meubles cassés , boitiers électriques non conformes et fils apparents Repas de réveillon payé 130€ /pers insipide et servi froid . Salle de banquet impersonnelle et trés vieillissante . personnelet DJ peu qualifié et peu souriant. vaisselle en plastique . Hotel qui aurait besoin d'un sérieux refresh |

La habitacion con vistas al mar es muy bonita y espaciosa, aunque podria ser mas barata para la epoca que estabamos, no había nadie (navidades), el trato bueno y el desayuno tambien. Cobrar 6 euros al dia por internet es una estafa-- y solo tener wifi en el hall gratis es un poco triste, por el precio de la habitaciones ya os vale que estamos en el 2014- menos mal que con 3g ya nos vale para unos dias. |
