Imagine a place where travelling through time, back to the past. Tossa de Mar is something like an outdoor museum. Its prehistoric remains from roman Turissa go through the medieval Tursa into modern Tossa. Once a meeting point for intellectuals (Marc Chagall, Picasso), now a very beloved touristic destination, Tossa de Mar is one of the most beautiful village in the Costa Brava.
Tossa de Mar is one of those typical coastal towns of the Empordà, where we find the pines growing and reaching sea, almost touching the water.
Tossa's economy, some centuries ago, was based on the cork and wine industry. However, the filming of 'Pandora' in 1950 (starring Ava Gardner), parallel to the beginning of the village as a tourist destination on the Costa Brava, turned this beautiful coastal location into one of the best known around the world. For this reason tourism has become the main economic engine of the town during last decades.
Tossa's origins are pre-Roman. Known as Turissa, it enjoys an exceptional geographic location, situated between Lloret de Mar (south) and Sant Feliu de Guixols (north). To get there you must take the road GI-682, which passes through the two mentioned locations. Both coming from Lloret and from Sant Feliu, the views from the road are fantastic. It is almost obligatory stop at one of the many panoramic viewpoints marked through the edge of the road to watch and take pictures of the views of the creeks that are visible from there. Through this way you can access beautiful and spectacular beaches such as Cala Giverola, Cala del Senyor Raimon, Cala Vallpresona, Cala Canyet, etc.
From Roman times Tossa still keeps the villa of Els Ametllers, located in av. of Pelegri, 3-5, near the Torre de Sant Magí (St. Magí Tower). Discovered by Dr. Ignasi Melee in 1914, it has its origin in the first century BC and was inhabited until the sixth century AD. It's really a great honor to Tossa to have one of the best towns in the former province of Tarraco, which has survived until today. In els Ametllers the owners cultivated grapes and exported wine to the rest of the Roman Empire. It is therefore a classic example of farming in the Mediterranean area dominated by the Romans.
Already in the center of town, you have to visit the walled enclosure, which is exactly the Vila Vella de Tossa. Listed as National Historic-Artistic Monument by the Spanish government, its walls now represent the only example of a fortified medieval town on the Catalan coast. It is composed of seven watchtowers (including, for example, d'en Joan, Codolar and Heures).
It is highly recommended to walk through the streets of this small walled area and get to the Faro de Tossa (Tossa Lighthouse), which overlooks a magnificent view of the rocky coastline south of village.
Tossa Lighthouse (1917), located on the highest part of the Vila Vella de Tossa has become the Lighthouse Interpretation Centre (Centro de Interpretación de Faros) of our coastline. This innovative equipment in the museum domain is a point of reference for all those interested in the world of maritime signals. It is an audiovisual center, adapted to visitors in several languages that teaches us the history and the different technologies used in the world of lighthouses and the lifestyle of their guardians, the lighthouse keepers. The space devoted to museum gives us the chance to see different parts of this maritime heritage.
Outside the Walls, bounded by the streets Portal and Estolt, you find the district of Sa Roqueta, a traditional place of fishermen formed in the first stage of Tossa urban expansion, back in the XVI century. Further, following the street Portal, is the commercial center of town.
The walk along the seafront of Tossa, from the walls to the beach of Mar Menuda is also a nice experience. This tour will allow you to enjoy the sea and the spectacular views of the Cape of Tossa and the fortified ancient villa previously described.
The Municipal Museum, housed in the Batlle Palace, bears testimony to the passage through Tossa of Marc Chagall, André Masson, Joaquim Sunyer and other painters captivated by this landscape.
Tossa boasts fine beaches such as Llorell and Morisca, and one of the most beautiful stretches on this coastline: the road to Sant Feliu de Guíxols (twenty-five kilometres of bend after bend) through the coves of Salions, Futadera, Giverola and Pola.

We were very impressed with the improvements made to the hotel, the air- conditioning (at last) was a godsend, the beds were far more comfortable than on our previous visits and the fridge very convenient. The food was also a great improvement. Lack of a safety deposit box in the room. Was disappointed that the tennis courts were still in a poor condition and quite expensive if you played every day. |

отдыхали 3 недели в сентябре. выбирали нешумный отель по отзывам, специально для отдыха с маленьким ребенком (8 месяцев). несмотря на то, что одна звезда, все было очень прилично, понравилось. персонал внимательный и отзывчивый, быстро реагировали на любые запросы (сделать влажную уборку, дать одеяло, дополнительную простыню, распечатать документ). уборка: убирались каждый день вполне сносно, но у нас из-за маленького ребенка требования к чистоте были выше. полотенца меняли каждый день. еда: брали завтраки и ужины. еда: шведский стол. на завтраках набор не изменялся: французская выпечка, хлопья, йогурты, сыр, мясо, фрукты. из приготовленного только вареные яйца. ужины разнообразные, каждый день радовали новыми блюдами. единственное, случались некоторые редкие дни, когда на наш вкус было слишком много жареного, но в целом кормят очень хорошо, не хуже, чем в 3-х звездах. территория: большая территория. часто вечером сидели на лавочке. есть детская горка и качалка для маленьких. расположение: отель расположен в тихой части города (хотя в сентября мы не заметили особенного шума), в 20-25 минутах ходьбы с коляской от старого города и моря. мы приспособились и, уходя гулять, загружали коляску всем необходимым, т.к. возвращаться в отель было все же далековато. в пяти минутах ходьбы от отеля есть бюджетный супермаркет Dia. от автовокзала 15 минут пешком. публика: довольно мало русских, в основном испанцы, немцы, французы, много англичан. встретили в отеле немца-постояльца, который отдыхал там уже 26-й раз :) хотелось бы большего разнообразия на завтраках: омлет, бекон, каша |

Llegamos a las 11:30 y ya pudimos coger la habitación, eso lo valoramos muy positivamente, aunque no pudieron darnos una con balcón como habíamos pedido en los comentarios de la reserva, ya que reservamos con un día de antelación y solo para dos noches. Era una superior pero nos tocó con ventana y mirando a la parte de atrás, no a la piscina. La habitación superior era como estar en un hotel de tres estrellas, cama enorme, suelo de parquet y tv plana muy grande, baño reformado con bañera...la única pega es que la nevera apenas enfría y las bebidas gratuitas que te reponen cada día (dos aguas y dos latas refresco), como las meten del tiempo, tardan en enfriarse y al final te las acabas bebiendo calientes. La recepcionista española de pelo rizado es un encanto y siempre con una sonrisa agradable. La zona de la piscina está muy bien, aunque... El agua de la piscina está congelada, al ser tan grande y profunda no se consigue calentar, aunque era septiembre hacía buenos días pero el agua no invitaba a meterse. Las hamacas son incómodas (de plástico blanco con esos listones duros) pero tampoco importa mucho porque al tener toda la zona con césped apetecía echar la toalla al suelo como en las piscinas municipales y estabas cómodo igual. La otra cosa que no nos gustó fue las cenas. Los desayunos sí que eran excelentes, con bollería recién horneada (no hay productos calientes tipo huevos o beicon, pero a nosotros eso no nos importó). Pero así como en las habitaciones superiores te sientes que estás en un hotel de 3 estrellas, al bajar a cenar redescubres que el hotel tiene solo 1. Las bebidas son aparte, pero baratas para lo que suelen cobrar en otros bufetes de hoteles (1,20 agua de 1/2 litro o 2 euros refresco), pero la comida no vale para nada los 10 euros por persona que cobran. Por último, una tontería que tampoco nos gustó es que la llave de la habitación no es de tarjeta, sino una llave normal con un súper llavero enorme, y tienes que dejarla en recepción cada vez que te vas, nosotros preferimos llevarnos la llave y no tener que estar pidiéndola cada vez. |

Обязательно посетите крепость и маяк они того стоят. Мы брали "улучшенный "номер, в номере был бесплатный маленький холодильник с водой и с колой/фантой. Питание было на 4 из 5. Отличное сочетание цены и качества. Город Тосса де Мар отлично подходит для семейного отдыха, там мало дискотек и шумных компаний. До Барселоны 1,5 ч. езды на автобусе. - К wi-fi так и не удалось подключиться) - На ужинах напитки платные (как и везде) - Испанская кровяная колбаса (морсилья) на любителя |

Этот отель находится ДАЛЕКО от пляжей!Если вы едете в Тоссу,чтобы не валяться у бассейна(для этого есть Турция),то этот отель не подойдет вам.Тут писали,что не нужно бояться 1 звезды!Ерунда!Номера убогие.Грязные(чужие волосы на раковине и унитазе-это в порядке вещей).А кроватей хуже мы еще не встречали ни в одном отеле.Но самое не приятное-это полчища муравьев!!!они были повсюду!Постельное бельё за неделю не сменили ни разу.Полотенца драные.В общем,за эти деньги можно остановиться в другой чистенькой гостинице в старом городке.Я не рекомендую этот отель никому.А еще,не заказывайте ужины,за 10 евро вы попадете в столовку времен СССР,где вам предложат вареную стручковую фасоль,слипшиеся макароны и синюшную курицу. |

Маленький спокойный уютный городок для релакса. Хороший песчаный пляж. Небольшой тихий отель вдали от шумных улиц с видом на горы и маяк в крепости, с бассейном и лужайкой, которую стригли каждый вечер. Аккуратные чистые номера, ежедневная уборка и смена полотенец. Не изобильная, но хорошая кухня для здорового питания. До центра Барселоны автобусом 1,5 часа за 14 евро, отправляются каждый час. бронировали отель самостоятельно через букинг. не понимаю почему этот отель 1 звезда??? не каждая тройка ему соответствует. прекрасное место! от автовокзала 10 мин пешком. террирория зелёная, всё очень чисто, ухожено. убирают в номерах каждый день, бельё постельное меняют на 5-й день. на завтраках бесподобная свежайшая выпечка, вкуснейшие спелые дыня, арбуз, ананас и другие фрукты. для аристократов с утра шампанское ))) номер брали улучшеный, он чуть дороже обычного - берите не пожалеете: свежий ремонт, в номере кондиционер и холодильник, ежедневно в холодильник ставят 2 бутылки по 0,5л воды, 1б фанты и 1 колы. напротив магазин Dia, недалеко ещё один магазин. за 2 недели 4 раза по вечерам была живая музыка и шоу фламенко (очень зажигательно) не бойтесь удаления от моря, пройти по прямой, по главной улице с магазинчиками 10- 15 мин. пешочком по уютному городку Tossa - одно удовольствие. что городок, что отель - очень уютные, тихие и спокойные. одна крепость и старый город чего стоят!!! преобдладают семейные пары и пары средних лет. молодежь конечно есть, но вся тусовка в основном йорет де мар. в общем, с удовольствием вернусь туда! единственный минус - завтрак однообразен, каждый день одно и тоже, за 2 недели чуточку поднадоело. |

Relación calidad-precio excelente. Estuvimos alojados en una de las habitaciones que se encuentran encima de la terraza-piscina (un poco mas caras pero merece la pena). Descansamos de maravilla. Tienen aire acondicionado y el servicio de limpieza de 10. Escogimos régimen de media pensión y la verdad que acertamos de pleno ya que tanto desayunos como cenas están muy bien en cuanto a variedad, alimentos frescos y limpieza. Recomendable para familias con niños pequeños ya que se lo pasarán en grande en las piscinas. Se encuentra ubicado a la entrada de Tossa, es una zona muy tranquila y a su vez cerca del casco urbano y de la playa. Algunos días comimos en la terraza. Tienen platos combinados que están muy bien relación calidad-precio y un buen servicio. No es una crítica pero estaría muy bien que organizasen alguna actividad para los más pequeños, tipo teatro, cine, musical... El precio del Parking nos pareció un poco elevado. |

A disposizione degli ospiti piscina e relativa struttura, e in più campo bocce, tavolo biliardo e due campi da tennis ma tutti a pagamento. La camera a noi riservata risultava estremamente spartana e mancava di comfort base come tendaggi alle finestre,box doccia, stendino, e gli asciugamani, seppure rinnovati giornalmente, risultavano usurati e non appartenenti alla stessa struttura. Al nostro ingresso la pulizia lasciava a desiderare, durante il soggiorno è migliorata. Il rapporto qualità prezzo non ci è risultato ottimale per ciò che concerne la camera, considerato anche che non era compreso nel prezzo il parcheggio (10 euro al giorno). Non torneremo più all'Hotel Marina Tossa. |

Excelente relación calidad precio. Estuvimos en dos habitaciones superiores triples, cama comoda, parquet, vistas a la piscina, tv plana y minibar gratuito cada dia. La comida estaba buenísima y la zona de la piscina era ideal para relajarse y que los niños se bañaran en las dos piscinas con un agua limpia. С оплатой тоже все ок, как и оговарилось при бронировании. Брать рекомендую улучшенный номер, будет кондер, холодильник и более интересный интерьер. Медленный wifi.Выбора блюд хватает, но хотелось бы поменьше жареного (мясо).Убираются хорошо, но очень медленно, к трем часам только доходили до нас, приходилось ждать, но возможно это особенности Испании. |

La piscina y su entorno es excelente! Tiene todos los servicios necesarios para sentirse muy a gusto. Para aquellos que disfrutamos de nadar la piscina tiene una medida ideal!! Destaco también la variedad y calidad del servicio de desayuno. El personal es muy amable. La comodidad de la habitación resultó un fiasco. La cama muy dura (no apta para personas con problemas de columna). La ducha sin presión (apenas sale agua) No hay cortinas, la persiana funcionaba mal, al no haber ni aire acondicionado ni ventilador, estás obligado a dormir con la ventana abierta (que no soluciona por completo el calor) y con ello duermes con los ruidos del exterior, con las luces del alumbrado exterior y las naturales desde el amanecer... Si bien la habitación está pintada, da un aspecto de abandono enorme!! El mobiliario es muy antiguo, las paredes están peladas y lo único que destacan son los agujeros sin rellenar, ni una lámina, ni un cuadro... El tapa rollos de la persiana está de lástima y todo ello a la vista. Es un pena ya que con muy poco podrían mejorar mucho... No tienen una sala de estar, donde una puede estar para escapar de la habitación... La zona Wi-fi es muy limitada... Todo esto me hace concluir que la calidad relación precio no es buena... |

Buscabamos un sitio alejado del bullicio nocturno y a la vez cerca del pueblo-playa.acertamos de plano. 5 minutos andando y estabas en la playa. La verdad es que no pusimos la toalla en la arena porque estuvimos tan agusto en la piscina. Siempre habia sitio en el gran cesped, siempre tuvimos hamacas.chapuzon,lectura,otro chapuzon, encargar mesa para comer.... De cine. Pagamos un poco mas por una habitacion mejor y acertamos. Justo encima de la piscina,palco de honor para las actuaciones de flamenco, la cantante, etc. todos los dias te reponian un par de refrescos y dos botellas de agua, no es la repera pero se agradece. En recepcion nos aconsejaban de todo, donde cenar, que visitar etc. un saludo para la bilbaina salada. Algunas noches cenamos en el hotel. Buffet 10 euros, me ponia tibio. Una pequeña critica constructiva.por cuatro duros,podriais cambiar el mobiliario de la terraza de la piscina y quedaria de lujo |
