Imagine a place where travelling through time, back to the past. Tossa de Mar is something like an outdoor museum. Its prehistoric remains from roman Turissa go through the medieval Tursa into modern Tossa. Once a meeting point for intellectuals (Marc Chagall, Picasso), now a very beloved touristic destination, Tossa de Mar is one of the most beautiful village in the Costa Brava.
Tossa de Mar is one of those typical coastal towns of the Empordà, where we find the pines growing and reaching sea, almost touching the water.
Tossa's economy, some centuries ago, was based on the cork and wine industry. However, the filming of 'Pandora' in 1950 (starring Ava Gardner), parallel to the beginning of the village as a tourist destination on the Costa Brava, turned this beautiful coastal location into one of the best known around the world. For this reason tourism has become the main economic engine of the town during last decades.
Tossa's origins are pre-Roman. Known as Turissa, it enjoys an exceptional geographic location, situated between Lloret de Mar (south) and Sant Feliu de Guixols (north). To get there you must take the road GI-682, which passes through the two mentioned locations. Both coming from Lloret and from Sant Feliu, the views from the road are fantastic. It is almost obligatory stop at one of the many panoramic viewpoints marked through the edge of the road to watch and take pictures of the views of the creeks that are visible from there. Through this way you can access beautiful and spectacular beaches such as Cala Giverola, Cala del Senyor Raimon, Cala Vallpresona, Cala Canyet, etc.
From Roman times Tossa still keeps the villa of Els Ametllers, located in av. of Pelegri, 3-5, near the Torre de Sant Magí (St. Magí Tower). Discovered by Dr. Ignasi Melee in 1914, it has its origin in the first century BC and was inhabited until the sixth century AD. It's really a great honor to Tossa to have one of the best towns in the former province of Tarraco, which has survived until today. In els Ametllers the owners cultivated grapes and exported wine to the rest of the Roman Empire. It is therefore a classic example of farming in the Mediterranean area dominated by the Romans.
Already in the center of town, you have to visit the walled enclosure, which is exactly the Vila Vella de Tossa. Listed as National Historic-Artistic Monument by the Spanish government, its walls now represent the only example of a fortified medieval town on the Catalan coast. It is composed of seven watchtowers (including, for example, d'en Joan, Codolar and Heures).
It is highly recommended to walk through the streets of this small walled area and get to the Faro de Tossa (Tossa Lighthouse), which overlooks a magnificent view of the rocky coastline south of village.
Tossa Lighthouse (1917), located on the highest part of the Vila Vella de Tossa has become the Lighthouse Interpretation Centre (Centro de Interpretación de Faros) of our coastline. This innovative equipment in the museum domain is a point of reference for all those interested in the world of maritime signals. It is an audiovisual center, adapted to visitors in several languages that teaches us the history and the different technologies used in the world of lighthouses and the lifestyle of their guardians, the lighthouse keepers. The space devoted to museum gives us the chance to see different parts of this maritime heritage.
Outside the Walls, bounded by the streets Portal and Estolt, you find the district of Sa Roqueta, a traditional place of fishermen formed in the first stage of Tossa urban expansion, back in the XVI century. Further, following the street Portal, is the commercial center of town.
The walk along the seafront of Tossa, from the walls to the beach of Mar Menuda is also a nice experience. This tour will allow you to enjoy the sea and the spectacular views of the Cape of Tossa and the fortified ancient villa previously described.
The Municipal Museum, housed in the Batlle Palace, bears testimony to the passage through Tossa of Marc Chagall, André Masson, Joaquim Sunyer and other painters captivated by this landscape.
Tossa boasts fine beaches such as Llorell and Morisca, and one of the most beautiful stretches on this coastline: the road to Sant Feliu de Guíxols (twenty-five kilometres of bend after bend) through the coves of Salions, Futadera, Giverola and Pola.

Everything was fantastic. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.Great location just a short walk to the beach and shops.We could see the castle from our room and the rooms were generous in size, nicely appointed,clean and the beds were so omfortsble. The hot tubs were great after an early morning swim and at the end of the day after sightseeing. Tossa de mar has a great atmosphere and the local attractions are all within walking distance. There is a great little supermarket just across the road that was very convenient. We couldn't fault the Hotel and we would definitely return to the hotel if we ever came back, and we certainly want to do that. It is a very special place. Nothing. |

Although an older property it is in great repair and the staff are very accommodating. The beach access is just out the door and there are plenty of near by restaurants. Breakfast is good. This is a cool property with rooftop hot tubs. The town is also very nice and well worth visiting. The rooms are small and the beds/pillows are average. |

We also resevated a parking space up front, but they didnt have one for us when we arrived, and they had to make some arrangement. * The safe in the room costs 4€ per day |

Staff is simply great. They are very kind and professional. Location is excellent (50 m to the beach). The room I selected was without the balcony. It was written on the website so is fine. The problem is that the window is almost "blind" resulting in a very dark and claustrophobical room. My suggestion is to state on the website that the room has "wall view" and not only that has no balcony. |

We found the staff at the Florida wonderful. We do not speak a lot of Spanish so appreciated their concession to speak to us in English. Merce in particular was extremely helpful answering all our queries effectively and going beyond the call of duty in many respects. We thorougly enjoyed our stay and could recommend it to anyone wanting to visit Tosse de Mar. Could not find fault, the Florida exceeded our expectations. |

The location was excellent and I would recommend this hotel. Disappointed that I was not informed that a cooked breakfast was an additional charge until presented with my bill at the end of my stay. My room booking included breakfast and in every other hhotel I have stayed in and there has been many in the past a cooked breakfast was always provided and included in the bedroom rate as well as a selection from the continental breakfast. |

хорошее расположение - до пляжа можно дойти за 3 минуты, до автовокзала за 10-15. очень отзывчивый персонал. к уборке претензий не было. неплохие завтраки (йогурт, хлопья, сыр, колбасы, выпечка, фрукты, сок, чай, кофе в капсулах). в номере есть фен, холодильник, телевизор, телефон. брали номер без балкона - окна выходили в шахту. плохая звукоизоляция- жили на втором этаже и были слышны разговоры с первого. |

Не плохой отель, расположен недалеко от пляжа. Инет работал исправно, кондиционер тоже. На крыше 2 гидромассажные вынны и шизлонги. Можно придти позагорать, посидеть в ванной. В номере есть холодильник. рядом с отелем куча магазинов. Итого, если у вас будет номер с окнами не в колодец, а на улицу, и вы готовы на завтрак есть булки с джемом и маслом, То вполне можно остановится тут. Для меня эти два пункта выжны, поэтому я второй раз сюда не поеду. Очень Маленькая комната, входная дверь открывалась не полностью, потому что упиралась в кровать. Хорошая слышимость. мебель старая, сейф стоит в шкафу, но в нем нет замка)) просто железный ящик. 2 односпальные кровати сдвинуты вместе, не очень то удобно для интима. Окно выходиоо в малюсенький колодец, так что можно поздороваться за руку с вашим соседом через окно. В один из дней пришли убираться в 8 утра!!! Мы сказали, что мы спим. После нюам позвонили по телефону и опять таки сказали, что хотят убраться, я еще раз сказала, что мы спим! По итогу номер не убирали сутки. Соответственно полотенца тоже никто не менял! И шампунь-гель не приносил. Чем то как то помылись. Так как батареи в ванной нет, то полотенца на след. Утро осталось мокрыми. На завтрак сели за стол, котрый был сервирован на 4 человека! А нас было 2! Нас выгнали из-за этого стола со всеми нашими тарелками. Завтрак скучный. Мюсли, йогурт и выпечка! Но за деньги можно заказать омлет. |

Semplicemente fantastico. Ottima la posizione a soli 50 metri dalla spiaggia. A conduzione familiare. Camere accoglienti e spaziose. Molto pulito e tenuto benissimo. Fantastiche le vasche idromassaggio sulla terrazza all'ultimo piano, ottimo per rilassarsi con vista sul Castello di Tossa. Fantastica la colazione internazionale, tutto molto fresco e riassortito continuamente. Noi ci torneremo anche il prossimo anno. La amabilidad del personal, la ubicación a 2 min de la playa, el jacuzzi de la azotea con los mojitos!!...Relación calidad/precio. Las recomendaciones de calas del personal de hotel. El pueblo de Tossa es precioso, con mucho encanto. hay calitas muy cerca... a 10 minutos en coche o incluso se puede ir en un barco que sale desde la misma playa de Tossa y donde puedes pasar todo el día. Cala Boadella...con el beach bar y sus mojitos.... La playa de Tossa está masificada, por lo menos en agosto. |

Расположение очень хорошее, отель нормальный, рекомендую, ездили в августе-цена высокая.Персонал отличный,завтрак фрукты,йогурт,колбасы и т.п.,нам нормально, многим может показаться однообразным. Шумный кондей, одну ночь мешал,остальные спали с открытым балконом и окнами, шум с улиц был, но нас сильно не беспокоил. |
