Begur is a lovely village in the heart of the Costa Brava, located in the massif of the same name. In his town, dominated by the XIth century castle, you will find so famous beaches in all Costa Brava as Aiguablava, Sa Tuna, Sa Riera, Aiguafreda, Platja Fonda or Fornells. In the center of village there are traces of Indian architecture, from the nineteenth century.
Located in the heart of Empordà (Ampurdán), protected by the mountains massif from where it took its name, the town of Begur is one of the most charming and secluded villages of the Costa Brava.
The medieval village of Begur has a charm derived from its ancient history. Located in the mountains of Begur, these mountains that surround the village are the clues to understand its origins. In the era of piracy, through the XVII-XVIIIth centuries, center of any village should not be located right on the coast but inside. Indeed, Begur, 192 meters above sea level, has this quality perfectly fulfilled and so it grew over the centuries, with its defensive towers protecting against pirates.
The imposing silhouette of its medieval castle over the town, the many American colonial style villas built by the emigrants that came back from America after making a fortune in XIXth century, the medieval layout of its narrow streets, the little houses of fishermen that can still be seen in some of the creeks that surround Begur, they all shape the identity of a people who have lived almost facing the sea and is now a major tourism focus in the whole of the Costa Brava.
The historic center of Begur is riddled with monuments which are inherited from a past that still remains in its stones, as the Church of Sant Pere, the house Pella and Forgas, Mas Pinc, where lived and died the great flamenco singer Carmen Amaya ... the castle itself, destroyed several times throughout its history.
Without a doubt the most distinctive natural landscape of Begur is formed by the set of eight small creeks and beaches that surround it, some of the most beautiful of the Costa Brava due to its location between cliffs and clear blue waters: Sa Riera, Sa Tuna, Aiguablava, Fornells, Platja Fonda, Aiguaxelida, Illa Roja.

Begur is a lovely little town convenient for traveling around the Costa Brava. The hotel is small, charming. There is parking close by for a fee. Breakfast is included in the small attached restaurant. Rooms are nicely furnished and unique. The hotel offered a family room, which was great for us and our children. De kamer was vrij warm om te slapen. Toilet bleef doorlopen en WIFI was nog niet beschikbaar op kamer. |

The hotel is located in the center of the town of Begur and there are great restaurants and shopping in town so the location is fantastic. It is a convenient base to explore the areas' beaches and small towns. The hotel was very clean and we especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet that is included in the price. The owner of the hotel is very nice. If you are high maintenance, this isn't the place for you because there isn't anyone at the front desk unless you call for them. There is no parking and you can't drive into the hotel to bring your luggage. If you come, park on the outskirt of the town because the streets near the hotel are too narrow to bring in a car. |

I liked the design of the hotel, the friendly and helpful staff and the location at the heart of the little town. There is no parking and you can't drive into the hotel to bring your luggage. Das Classic Begur ist hervorragend geeignet für Gäste, die Strandurlaub machen möchten, unüberschaubare Bettenburgen in erster Linie jedoch vermeiden wollen. Dafür kann man mehrere Buchten bequem in 15 Min. Mit einem Shuttlebus erreichen. In dem kleinen Hotel fühlt man sich gleich wie zu Hause. Die Zimmer sind wie beschrieben und sehr individuell. Rückenfreundliche Matratzen!! Das Frühstück ist sehr abwechslungsreich, Sonderwünsche werden sofort und gerne berücksichtigt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und jederzeit hilfsbereit. Unsere Koffer wurden vom 60 m entfernten Parkplatz vom Hotelchef persönlich zum Hotel getragen. Für uns hat das Hotel eher 4 Sterne verdient!!! ./. |

De familie die het hotel runt was heel erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam op elke mogelijke manier, we voelden ons thuis. Jolanda stond er 1 avond op om onze babyfoon in haar beheer te nemen, zodat wij iets verder op het pleintje samen konden eten terwijl onze kleine sliep. Heerlijk! De familiekamer die we hadden, was erg mooi en lekker ruim. -Het balkon was wat kleiner dan verwacht en werd gedeeld met 2 andere kamers ( wel afscheidingswanden ) |

Charmant hôtel, excellente literie, décoré avec goût, propre et personnel très agréable et serviable. Parking privé appréciable dans une ville ou le centre est piétonnier. Petits déjeuners copieux et même montés en chambre. Machine à café disponible et malgré certains commentaires, le prix y est raisonnable, c'est du bon café. Bravo à la maîtresse des lieux et merci ! Nous avons passé un très bon moment. Un seul bémol : les bars et restaurants bruyants en bas de l'hotel dans la rue, jtrès frequentée tard dans la nuit ...mais l'isolation est excellente, et la climatisation en cas de grosses chaleurs présente. Penser à réserver côté terrasse mais je ne devrais pas le dire ;-) et me garder l'info ! |
