This family-run hotel is in Port Lligat Bay, just 165 ft from Salvador Dalí’s fascinating House-Museum. It offers free Wi-Fi and 2 outdoor swimming pools with sea views.

Hotel Calina is in Cadaqués
Cadaqués is the focal point of the Cap de Creus peninsula, which is an outstanding maritime and terrestrial natural park on account of the diversity of the marine species found there and the shapes of its rocks sculpted by the Tramuntana wind. All round the Cap de Creus, which faces over the Gulf of Lions, are inaccessible islets, cliffs and coves. Though the waters look calm, sea goers have nicknamed it “the Devil’s Cape” and it abounds in tales of shipwrecks and rescues.
The outlines of the rocks (which Dalí described as “a grandiose geological delirium”) inspired his well-known pictures with double images. The views from the lighthouse (built in 1850 on the site of an old watchtower) have been used in various films, including The Light at the Edge of the World (1971), directed by Kevin Billington and starring Kirk Douglas and Yul Brynner.
In the last centuries being a fishing village, it was from the 50's when Cadaqués was opened universally. It has been visited by a large number of artists throughout the twentieth century: Picasso, Matisse, Max Ernst and Federico García Lorca (invited by Dali himself to his home when they were young students in Madrid). The streets of the fishing village, which for centuries suffered from pirate raids, the characteristic brand of Catalan spoken by the local people, the whitewashed houses, and the atmosphere of freedom still make it unique.
The geographical location of Cadaqués is just outstanding. Its bay is the largest natural harbor in the Costa Brava. Often the boats moored in it are of enormous dimensions. As we arrive to the village we cross the National Park of Cape Creus, a small peninsula that sits on a geological fault with more than 400 million years old. Today the park is classified by authorities as a protected natural environment.
Portlligat beach is near Cadaqués, just over a kilometer. It still seems as it was painted by the great Salvador Dalí : narrow and surrounded by rocks ...but who looks Cadaqués just for its beach? The village is full of cultural attractions that visitors can not miss. First, the Home-Museum of Salvador Dali, also in Portlligat, the first vertex that forms the Dalí triangle (made also by Púbol Castle and the Theatre-Museum Dalí in Figueres). Cadaqués center also houses several art galleries and the church of Santa Maria, from the seventeenth century, late Gothic styled, surrounded by numerous small streets that go to the beach. Cadaqués Museum has works made by Dali and other artists. Inside the Church of Santa Maria is a magnificent Baroque altarpiece, and a walk along the seafront to the small lighthouse of Cala Nans is an unforgettable experience.
Cadaqués is also a village of coffee and bars next to the beach. The old quarter is full of trendy shops and craft workshops. From Easter it begins to fill with tourists.
Undoubtedly Cadaqués is a must for anyone wishing to know the essence of the Costa Brava and especially the Dali Universe.

Para ir en invierno, hace frio, porque solo hay un aparato de aire que no puedes regular la temperatura situado en el salón-cocina, en el servicio y en la habitación hacia frio!!! una tele pequeña, el sofa algo incomodo, tienes que alquilar las sabanas y las toallas, que por cierto dan una toalla por persona, en mi caso para tres noches con una toalla... algo poco igienico, pero bueno, todo ello se compenso por la buena compañia, y no lo di mucha importancia a pesar de todo. |

rooms are large - we had a "living room area", bedroom area and a small equipped kitchen hotel is perfectly located near the house of dali (to visit his house a reservation is mandatory),the sea...20 minutes walk from the center of the town..(perfect for a short stay). Parking is available - every room has its reserved parking spot. The area is just great for hicking, cycling.... wall are very thin - so you hear everything... Nothing to do with the hotel, but the road to Cadaques is narrow and long.. cannot drive more than 40km/h so it takes about an hour from the highway. |

A lovely hotel in a perfect setting, really magical. I loved the fact that it was off the beaten track and overlooked the bay and marina. The hotel is on the edge of the stunning Cap Creus national park with all its beautifully isolated beaches. Having Salvador Dali's house within a stones' throw away was an added bonus and of course we had reserved tickets to look around inside. It was wonderful being able to see his house from the pool area. The pool although pristine and a decent size was painfully cold, in September, anyway. We had a really big family room with a huge bathroom and a little front garden where we would have breakfast. The beautiful village of Cadaques is only a 5 minute drive away. We cannot wait to go back to the hotel and spend more time exploring the area. Nothing I could not fault this place |

We even got a free upgrade, because of low season, very generous!! Nice swimming pool, with plenty of sunbeds and you can also sit in the shade. Nice views. Everything was very clean. Reception staff were superb - spoke English and French extremely well and Spanish of course, very helpful and pleasant. The pool terrace was excellent and gave direct access to the village of Portligat and the Dali house (less than 100m) I wish the pool was heated. Nos ha encantado este hotel por muchos motivos: Buena ubicación en zona tranquilisima a 10 m andando del centro de Cadaqués. Estudios con nevera y cocina muy amplios, muy limpios y cómodos, no les faltaba de nada. El personal muy amable y servicial. Tienes tu propia plaza de parking asignada en frente del estudio gratis. Wifi también gratis. Y lo mejor era el buen trato hacia las mascotas, ya que no solo lo aceptan sino que son bienvenidos. El único pero es que las paredes son de papel y se oye todo... Y el precio de las mascotas por día me parece elevado, sobretodo si llevas dos como en mi caso. |

El parking privado, a la sombra y gratuito justo frente a la habitacion es excelente . La piscina muy buena, amplia, con tumbonas en abundancia y con mucho sol ( negativo, su agua esta muy fria ). El personal de recepcion sabe idiomas, algo que en España es como un milagro y digno de destacar. La calidad general es mas que buena y no se entiende como solo tiene dos estrellas, pues es muy superior en muchos aspectos a muchisimos hoteles de 3 y 4 estrellas. Muy recomendable en temporada de verano pues Cadaques es muy concurrido e incomodo por la afluencia de gente y este hotel cuenta con una ubicacion fantastica alejada de los inconvenientes de las multitudes de turistas. Lo recomiendo enfaticamente tanto para parejas en plan romantico como para familias con niños y aun con su perro que son muy bienvenidos en este hotel, otro detalle exceelente que en España no se toma en consideracion ya que, por falta de cultura y educacion, es un pais donde la gente se reune a vitorear a una persona que asesina un toro pero no permite que las familias disfruten de sus vacaciones con su mascota. Hermosos dias hemos pasado aqui, lo recomendaremos y con toda seguridad volveremos. el personal de servicio del bar es muy poco profesional aunque amable. el precio de la comida es muy caro en relacion calidad precio, aconsejo ir a comer fuera del hotel. La entrada a recepcion se hace por una empinada escalera debiendo la gente sufrir el peso de sus maletas. existe una rampa para subir sin esfuerzo pero no esta debidamente indicada. Un tema muy delicado es la falta de informacion en la habitacion en caso de evacuacion por incendio teniendo en cuenta que a las 10 de la noche la habitacion queda aislada completamente pues cierran con llave los caminos de evacuacion hacia piscina y recepcion. la gente deberia evacuar por una escalera sumamente estrecha y NO DEBIDAMENTE indicada como via de escape . El hotel en este sentido ignora todas las normas legales de indicaciones obligatorias de evacuacion tanto dentro de la habitacion como en el exterior de las mismas. Como detalle, se podria decir que siendo un hotel regenteado por una familia falta comunicacion y simpatia con el pasajero. La dueña no sonrie ni saluda adoptando un aire de superioridad que no cae bien contrastando con la amabilidad de su joven hija Catalina. Todo lo indicado como negativo es facilmente solucionable y el hotel es muy recomendable. |

La tranquilidad que sientes en el hotel, por estar algo alejado del pueblo, pero al lado de una calita con unas vistas impresionantes, y el trato por el personal es muy cercano y amigable. Las instalaciones, el desayuno, las habitaciones, todo muy bien. Que tienes que desplazarte andando un rato para ver Cadaques, y si tienes poco tiempo, prepara las piernas, pero hay que decir que es un paseo muy hermoso. |

Sa situation près de la plage,l'accès à la côté et à cadaques à pied.le parking avec un emplacement numéroté le calme environnant . l'accueil de mademoiselle ESTHER sachant nous guider avec efficacité dans chacune de nos demandes. L'espace en général des lieux communs, couloirs,piscine,parking,zone de repas... Il faut demander pour avoir du savon, du shampoing alors que prévu dans notre séjour. Le manque de documentation dans les chambres sur les services de l'hôtel et sur les activités touristiques et commerciales environnantes. La différence d'amabilité et de compétence du personnel. |

Frokosten er god og bassengene og områdene rundt rene. Rene, små sjarmerende rom. Hotellet har egen strand på baksiden som er ferfekt for piknikk!
