Near Torroella, L’Estartit was a fishermen’s district until the 19th century.
Today it is a popular holiday destination with a bustling marina. The archipelago of seven small islands, known as the Medes Islands, constitutes an important ecological reserve and a hugely popular destination among divers. It features a protected coral reserve and glass-bottom boats travel back and forth to the islands.
North of L’Estartit, where the Montgrí massif meets the sea, rise the highest cliffs in Catalonia (100 metres high) with navigable tunnels such as La Foradada, only accessible by sea and hiking trails.
To the south, at the mouths of the Ter and Daró rivers, hikers can enjoy spectacular trails through salt lakes and mobile dunes.

Nice sized one bedroom modernised apartment which was clean and well equipped. Large terrace across living room and bedroom, nice pool, excellent location. Air con modern and quiet and efficient. Tiny annoyance was that the bedroom was too narrow for a bedside table on both sides of bed. Also TV only shows Spanish programmes - nothing at all in English, not even the News. |

La ubicación, cerca de la playa. L estartit es una zona tranquila. El apartamento estaba bien equipado. Hacerme las camas al llegar, pero entiendo que es lo que conlleva el reservar un apartamento. Tampoco conseguimos sintonizar ningún canal en español, en los tres días de estancia. |

La ubicación, su cercanía a la playa. El personal era amable. La limpieza, tampoco tenía un kit mínimo de cortesía de productos de limpieza. No había ni plancha ni secador. Faltaban almohadas y tardaron tres días en traerlas. |
