Hotel Nou Estrelles si trova in Cadaqués
Cadaqués è l’anima della penisola del Cap de Creus, un parco naturale marino e terrestre di grande importanza per la biodiversità delle sue acque e per le forme delle sue rocce, modellate soprattutto dalla tramontana.
Il Cap de Creus, con i suoi isolotti, le scogliere a picco, le cale inaccessibili, le acque calme solo in apparenza, è conosciuto da chi naviga con il famigerato nome di promontorio del Diavolo. Incuneato nel golfo del Leone, è infatti protagonista di numerose storie di naufragi e salvataggi. Le forme delle sue rocce – “un grandioso delirio geologico”, ebbe a dire Dalí – hanno ispirato i celebri quadri con le “immagini doppie” dell’artista. Gli scenari visti dal faro (costruito nel 1850 su un’antica torre di guardia) sono stati immortalati in vari film, tra cui Il faro in capo al mondo di Kevin Billington (1971) con Kirk Douglas e Yul Brynner.
Tradizionalmente villaggio di pescatori, è stato dagli anni 50 quando Cadaqués comincia a essere conosciuta al turismo universalmente. È stata visitata da un gran numero di artisti durante tutto il secolo XX: Picasso, Matisse, Max Ernst e Federico García Lorca (invitato da Dalì a casa sua quando erano giovani studenti a Madrid). Le sue vie, assaltate per secoli dai pirati, la varietà linguistica parlata dai suoi abitanti (il català salat), il bianco delle case e un’aria di vita libera ne fanno, ancora oggi, un posto senza eguali.
La posizione geografica di Cadaqués è semplicemente eccezionale. La sua baia è il più grande porto naturale della Costa Brava. Spesso le barche ormeggiate in Cadaqués sono di dimensioni enormi. L'arrivo al villaggio ci permette attraversarse il Parco Nazionale di Capo Creus, una piccola penisola che si trova su una faglia geologica con più di 400 milioni di anni. Oggi il parco è classificato come un spazio naturale protetto.
La spiaggia di Portlligat vicina a Cadaqués, a poco più di un chilometro, è come descritta dal grande pittore Salvador Dalí: stretta e piena di rocce ... ma chi cerca Cadaqués semplicemente per la sua spiaggia? Il villaggio è ricco di attrazioni culturali che i visitatori non possono mancare. In primo luogo, la Casa-Museo di Salvador Dalì, anche in Portlligat, il primo vertice che forma il triangolo Dalí (fatto anche dal Castello di Púbol e il Teatro-Museo Dalí a Figueres). Il centro di Cadaqués ospita anche diverse gallerie d'arte, per non parlare della chiesa di Santa Maria, del XVII secolo, d’architettura tardo gotica, circondata da numerose piccole strade che vanno alla spiaggia. Il Museo di Cadaqués ospita opere di Dalì e altri artisti. Il retablo barocco della chiesa Santa Maria è un’opera di incomparabile bellezza e la passeggiata lungo il mare fino al piccolo faro di Cala Nans, indimenticabile.
Cadaqués è anche un villaggio di bar sulla spiaggia. Il centro storico è pieno di negozi alla moda e laboratori artigiani. Da Pasqua le sue strade cominciano a riempirsi di turisti.
Cadaqués è senza dubbio una visita a non mancare per chiunque voglia conoscere l'essenza della Costa Brava e in particolare l'universo di Dali.

Nou Estrelles is highly recommended hotel that deserves another star. It is a cosy and quiet place to stay, from which you can get easily and quickly to Cadaqués town center, bus station and the seaside. Personnel were friendly and really helpful, speaking French, Spanish and English (the reception lady printed buses schedule and ordered a taxi for us). We found the rooms fresh, modern and warm (s.r. TV, phone, b.r. hair dryer, bidet, shampoo). The rooms were cleaned quite well every day. Fresh and nice smelling towels were provided every day. The sleeping room was not so spacious so we kept our luggage in the cabinet or under the bed. The view from the balcony was not impressive. |

We stayed there for one night. The staff were friendly, and their english was fine, which is a bonus if you don't speak spanish. The hotel is placed right next to the bus station, and even though you can not see the coast line from the hotel, it is really close. Cadaques is a charming costal town, and it is definitely worth a visit. The breakfast was not impressive, especially when you consider the price (7 euro per person). The service level during the breakfast was not that great either -- we had to ask for the bread to be refilled. |

nous avons été très bien accueilli par la propriétaire ou gérante, il y a 1 parking gratuit, la chambre que nous occupions était grande et confortable avec une terrasse. L'hotel est treès bien situé à l'entrée de Cadaques et l'on peut tout faire à pied. Un très bon rapport qualité/prix et 1 adresse que je recommanderai volontiers. Tout était très bien!! |

Great hotel for price. Comfortable beds, good bathroom facilities, balconies for some rooms and even overlooking the road was interesting rather than irritating. Double glazing on patio doors prevented road noise. Very helpful staff and English spoken. Didn't try the breakfast. Only criticism would be the thin walls between bedrooms as you could hear strange noises and find out more about your neighbours than you really needed to know. But it wasn't a major issue. |

Good clean modern hotel with decent sized rooms and helpful staff located on a roundabout on main road into Cadeques so siting on the balcony is nosiy and doesn't give much of a view. Could also be noisy at night if you opened door to balcony to let in air. |
