Als Seebad erlebte Tossa de Mar seine Goldenen Jahre um die Jahrhundertwende und in den ersten Jahrenzeiten des 20. Jh. Schriftsteller, Dichter, vor allem Maler schätzen Tossa de Mar, das milde Klima und die landschaftliche Umgebung.
1951 fungierte Tossa unter dem Phantasiename “Esperanza” als malerische Kulisse für den englischen Spielfilm “Pandora und der fliegenden Holländer”, in dem Ava Gardner und James Mason die Hauptrollen spielten. Durch diesen Strafen wurde Tossa auch dem breiteren Publikum bekannt, und schon bald darauf rollten die erste Busse aus deutsche Landen an.
Zu den attraktionen, die die Costa Brava bereits in den 1960er Jahren zu einem touristischen reiseziel ersten ranges machten, zählt die Burg von Tossa de Mar. Der als Cap de Tossa oder Cap d’Or bekannte Gebirgsausläufer trennt die kleine Bucht Cala des Codolar vom Platja Llarga, dem Strand, der sich an der Bucht von Tossa erstreckt. Sieben Türme mit Maschikulis und eine zinnenbewehrte Mauer aus dem 12. Jahrhundert schützen die mittelalterliche altstadt, in der die ruine der alten Kirche und der gotische Gouverneurspalast (14. Jh.) erhalten sind.
Heute bietet Tossa de Mar außer dem relativ kleinen Strand eine wirklich sehenswerte Oberstadt (Vila Vella), die mit interessanten Mauern und Türmen umgeben ist und markante Elemente mittelalterlicher Befestigungskultur zeigt. Auf einem Hügel über dem Meer gelegene Altstadt steht heute unter Denkmalschutz. Das sehenswerte, vorbildlich restaurierte Altstadtensemble (12. bzw. 13. Jh.) unterstreicht den Charmen des Natursteins.
Der einzig erhaltenen Reste der römischen Vergangenheit, Els Ametllers, ist an der Av. del Pelegrí nahe der Touristeninformation. Die beiden Anwesen, oberhalb eine Stadtvilla, unterhalb ein ländlicher Bau, sind aus der Zeit zwischen dem ersten und em vierten Jahrhundert. Außer Grundmauern und einigen weniger Mosaiken (die besten sind im Museum) ist allerdings wenig zu besuchen.
Der Leuchtturm hoch über Vila Vella der letzten Recherche zu einem Museum umgebaut, das sich mit moderner Technik den Leuchttürmen des Mittelmeers widmen soll.
Tossa genießt eine fortschrittliche Tourismuspolitik. Dabei wissen die Damen und Herren vom Fremdenverkehrsamt durchaus um die Bedürfnisse ihrer vorwiegend ausländischen Touristen. Tossa de Mar verweist man auf ein ausgedehntes Netz von Wanderwegen und auf die dank der Kläranlage hervorrangende Wasserqualität, die mit der blauen Europafahne belohnt wurde.
Im Stadtmuseum im Palau del Batlle finden sich Zeugnisse der aufenthalte von Marc Chagall, André Masson, Joaquim Sunyer und anderen von der Landschaft der Umgebung faszinierten Malern.
Neben schönen Stränden, wie dem Platja de Llorell und dem der Cala Morisca, besitzt Tossa eine der schönsten Straßen dieses Küstenabschnitts: die Landstraße, die auf 25 kurvenreichen Kilometern vorbei an den Buchten Cala Salions, Sa Futadera, Cala Giverola und Cala Pola nach Sant Feliu de Guíxols führt.

Die Lage mit dem Strand direkt vor der Türe, einfach super. Hilfsbereites Personal an der Rezeption und dem Restaurant. Sehr gute Küche im dazugehörenden Restaurant. Als wir das Zimmer betratten lies die Sauberkeit zu wünschen übrig. Nachdem wir darauf aufmerksam gemacht haben wurde es deutlich besser. Die Klimaanlage in unserem Zimmer tropfte ab dem ersten Tag, nach dem wir mehrmals darauf aufmerksam gemacht haben und nichts passiert ist, wir wurden immer vertröstet es werde erledigt. Am 3. Tag sagten wir es nochmals dem Zimmermädchen und siehe da sofort wurden alle Möglichkeiten unternommen das Problem zu lösen. Leider musste eine Spezialfirma kommen und dies war dan aber erst an unserem Abreisetag (Montag) möglich. Das Management entschuldigte sich aber mit einer Flasche Sekt und einer Früchteplatte und bot uns auch für ein anderes Zimmer an. Diese Gesten haben uns sehr gefreut und den im Moment getrübten Eindruck wieder ins positive gewandelt. |

отзывчивый персонал. были проблемы с номером - мелкие муравьи в ванной. персонал отеля пошел на встречу и поменял номер в тот же день. понравилось расположение отеля и свежий воздух, близко от моря, рядом с пляжем. не шумно. наличие собственной бесплатной парковки тоже было плюсом. вечером в ресторане отеля играет живая музыка, создающая романтическую атмосферу. наличие WiFi со сносной скоростью :)) фотографии отеля в целом соответствуют действительности. мелкие муравьи в номере на первом этаже отеля. много волос на "свежих" полотенцах, а также на полу в ванной и в раковине, а также на постели. волосы появлялись почему то после уборки номера... завтрак скудноват - можно было разнообразить. грязное джакузи в спа. |

Great location. Good breakfasts and terrace to eat them on. We had a first floor superior sea view double room. Fantastic view although the balcony was a tad small as they had altered the layout to include a third bed, but a minor complaint. We stayed six nights and I would happily go back. I was impressed with Tossa de Mar...never been to the costas before. Very tranquil...classy people...and some of the best restaurants, I've experienced in Spain. My wife and I were on two motorbikes...the coast road between Tossa de Mar and Sant Feliu de Guixols is amongst the best in Europe. 365 bend in twelve miles & stunning views. Don't be tempted to visit Llorett...absolute dump! |

The location of the hotel was ideal. Right on the end of the beach area, but away from the main beach and the crowds. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom was large. The breakfast buffet was very good and for the first time on touring Europe, I was able to order a hot breakfast (eggs, bacon, tomato and mushrooms). The wi fi would not work from our room, even though we were the closest room to the reception desk. The only way I could get reception, was to sit in the lounge area next to reception desk. |

Clean and cosy hotel. It is the only hotel that is situated directly on the beach with the nicest rocks that you can see through the windows. We took suite, not ordinary room and the view was extremely beautiful. I could hear the sea, laying on the bed, and could even see sunrise at the sea, just opening eyes in the morning. The room was big (actually there was two rooms, but we used only one and there was enougth space for a couple and baby with a pushchair) with large windows and large balcony (we often had our lunch or dinner there). Spacy bathroom with a bath. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was large and we could take our baby there without any problems when she didn't want to sleep in the cot. Towels were changed every day and beddings twice a week. Breakfast was very good. There was fresh apples, peaches, oranges, watermelon, melon, several types of cheese and ham, hamon and, different types of bread, a lot of sweets, even a champain. Also we could order hot fried eggs with tomatos and becon, very good coffee. Personnel was extremely friendly and helpful, they helped us very much, we were like friends in the end. When we broken something in the toilet, they repaired it very quickly without any question. They even gave us parasol for the beach (otherway we had to buy it). There werre several nice surprises in the hotel. We were pleasantly surprised that hotel presented us a journey in a boat with the glass bottom (where you can see rocks and fish under the water). The minibar was also for free for us. There were free coffebrakes about 5-6 o'clock in the evening. I enjoyed staying at the hotel and can recommend it! It is seems to be that 4 stars in Spain something more simple that 4 stars in Germany. The room looks a little bit cheap for the price (the schower that you can't make higher or lower, the mirrow was old and walls just painted in white). |

Отель расположен прямо у моря, свой паркинг (бесплатно), в конце береговой линии, что значительно снижает шумы вечером, но зато до нормальных ресторанов нужно пройти минут 10, свой ресторан у них имеется, но очень уж недушевные официанты, что портило впечатление от еды. Из номеров с видом на море видна крепость, но у нас и был вроде бы вид на море, но наполовину, вторая половина упиралась в стены ресторана. La proximité de la plage, disponibilite et amabilite du personnel, petits dejeuners copieux, nous étions chambre 212 à coté d'une évacuation de cuisine qui gronde de 9h le matin jusqu'à 22h 30 le soir !!! Séjour un peu gaché, payer 155 E / jour, trop cher pour partir le plus possible de la chambre et fuir ce bruit. |

Приветливый персонал,прекрасная кухня, официантка Моника прекрасно общалась на русском языке,которая помогала определиться с выбором блюд.Т.к. мы останавливались в отеле на 10 дней,нам была предоставлена бесплатная поездка на катере вдоль побережья,с заходом в небольшие бухты.Был бесплатный ланч с 17до 18.30,что было очень приятно! Пляж был чистый,утром всегда убирала машина,он находиться сразу при выходе из гостиницы,что есть не маловажным фактором!!!Понравилось очень,наша семья хотела бы еще посетить эту гостиницу!!! Не было одноразовых тапочек,хотелось бы,чтобы тщательней проводилась уборка,т.к. на балконе горничная не убиралась!!! |

the location was brilliant, right on the beach. The free parking was great and safe because the barrier which was operated by reception staff. Breakfast food was fresh, well provided, staff were friendly, the service of warm food was fast. The TV reception was terrible, there were only Spanish-language channels and 2 French-language channels with flickering image. There was a channel provided for BBC but there was no picture or sound. Not good. We had booked a junior suite but we were given a 1 bedroom suite, with a double bed in the bedroom and 1 singles side-by-side in the main room. When we asked, there was confusion, different staff members offered different solutions. The next day, we inquired again and we were offered a smaller room. We declined. We re-arranged the furniture in the main room, with 1 bed vertical against the wall and the other bed against it, making a sofa, sort of. It still wasn't very comfortable. The sauna was cold on 2 of the 3 occasions we tried to use it. The Turkish-bath room was cold all the time and smelled really bad. The water in the swimming pool was very cold, I saw 1 person swim in the 5 days we were there. |

Muy buen servicio, el personal es muy agradable y dispuesto a ayudar sobretodo enel restaurante. El desayuno es muy bueno y variado. La habitacion era comfortable. Pude ver como preparaban una boda en la playa y me encanto! La piscina exterior estaba bastante sucia. Se vende como hotel spa... Yo no lo diria asi: el jacuzzi era poco apetecible olia mucho a cloro y el agua estaba fria, la sauna tiene un termometeo que marcaba 90 grados, pero maximal tendria 60. Las juntas de silicona en el baño estaban negras ( como en muchos otros hoteles, pero a mi me parece asqueroso) y muchas manchas de cal. Son pequeños detalles que se podrian mejorar facilmente |

This hotel has the best beach and location in Tossa de Mar. Our room was comfortable with a wonderful view. Our breakfast was very good and it was lovely to sit outside. Also had a nice lunch in the restaurant. The staff was very helpful. Hotel could use some updating and maintenance. |

Nous sommes restés déjà plusieurs fois dans cet hôtel et les chambres sont rénovées et le tapis-plain est remplacé par du parquet. Le restaurant est toujours encore de très bonne qualité. Le personnel est très gentil, le jeune homme qui nous a servi était si gentil et attentif.Nous retournons de nouveau. Seul bémol, les salles de bains dans les chambres au premier et deuxième étage vue mer et vue mer partielle sont un peu trop petit. |
