À Palafrugell on peut visiter la maison natale de l’écrivain Josep Pla (1897-1981) et flâner dans les rues du vieux quartier autour de l’église Sant Martí et du marché, où l’on trouvera de très bons produits du terroir.
Le passé de Palafrugell est associé à la richesse générée par l’industrie du liège, dont témoigne un intéressant musée du liège. Une ancienne fabrique de produits en liège, Can Mario, renferme également une très belle collection d’art contemporain.
