Hotel Coral ist in Sant Feliu de Guíxols
Wer aus den Zentren des Tourismus kommt, erlebt Sant Feliu de Guíxols als eine willkommene Abwechslung: kleinstädtisches Treiben in der Altstadt mit ihren etwas angestaubten Geschäften.
Während sich andere Küstenstädte eine radikale Modernisierung verordnet haben, pflegt Sant Feliu de Guíxols sein eher traditionelles Erscheinungsbild.
Schöne Jacarande-Bäume auf der Rambla d’Antoni Vidal, eine altertümliche Markthalle und die allerorten waltende Gemütlichkeit auf den Flanier-Trottoirs. Hier gen die Alltagsbedürfnisse der Einheimischen den Ton an, ganz im Gegensatz zum benachbarten s’Agaró oder Platja d’Aro.
Bereits im 4 Jh. v. Chr. existierte hier eine iberische Siedlung. Grosse Bedeutung für den Ort hatte die Gründung des Benediktinerklosters im 10 Jh., das zu einem der einflussreichsten religiösen Zentren der katalanischen Grafschaften avancierte.
Sant Feliu ist die katalanische Bezeichnung für den Heiligen Felix. Eine gewisse wirtschaftliche Blüte erlebte die Küstenstadt im 19. Jh., als Kork und andere Produkte verschifft wurden. Zu Beginn des 20 Jh. begann auch hier der touristische Boom, der allerdings bis auf den heutigen Tag nicht übermässig um sich gegriffen hat.
Der Treffpunkt in Sant Feliu ist das originelle Casino am Flanierboulevard der kleinen Stadt. Eckgebäude mit Neo-mudéjar-Elementen, heute residiert hier das Casino, eine Art Café, wo sich die älteren Männer des Ortes zum Kartenspiel treffen.
Monestir de Porta Ferrada ist eines monumentales Benediktinerkloster aus dem 10 Jh. mit dreischiffiger Kirche aus dem 14. und 15. Jh. Sehenswert ist u.a. die Porta Ferrada, eine romanische Rundbogenvorhalle, wo im Sommer Musikdarbietungen stattsfinden. Hinter der Porta Ferrada erhebt die romanisch-gotische Pfarrkirche und mitten auf dem Platz das freistehende Barocktor Arc de Sant Benet, 1747 errichtet und seinerzeit der Eingang zum Klosterhof. Das Klostergebäude selbst stammt aus dem 18 Jh. und beherbergt nebem dem historischen Archiv auch das sehenswerte Stadtmuseum Museu d’Història de la Ciutat.
Ermita de Sant Elm ist eine kleine Kapelle im Südwesten der Stadt, auf dem 99 Meter hohen Hügel Puig Castellar, auf dem in früheren Zeiten eine Burg stand. Der 1723 an Stelle einer Vorgängerin errichtete Bau, der Ausblick ist spektakulär. Hier oben soll denn auch zu Anfang des 20. Jh. der Journalist und Schriftsteller Ferran Agulló den Namen “Wilde Küste” geprägt haben; ein Gedenkstein erinnert daran.

Die Nähe zum Mittelmeer. Ruhige Lage, zentral gelegen, viele Gaststätten zu jedem Preis gleich um die Ecke. Frühstückszeit, Gesagt wurde um 8, aber die Angestellte war auf um 9 bestellt, sie konnte nix dafür. Aber wir hatten noch eine lange Fahrt vor uns und daher wäre uns das Frühstück zeitiger lieber gewesen. |

Lo primero y mas importante que no admitan pagos con tarjetas de credito, y en segundo lugar pero no menos importante el que no te entreguen factura alguna o comprobante del pago realizado. The fact that one had to carry ones keys whengoing out of the hotel (thus causing problems if a fire happened as regards knowing who was in or out). The owner sometimes has to visit Barcelona thus there is no one about at these times. I I had the unfortunate experience of being the only guest in the hotel at one of these times and found myself completely alone, no staff, no guests! (I had my keys with me of course) but I could find no lights on entering the hotel ( just a very small one at reception) but the room I had to enter initially off reception was in total darkness as was the rest of the hotel. So, at 80 years old, I was in a strange country, in a strange hotel, not speaking the language and knowing I was the only person there until the cleaning lady came in the following morning. You will understand I had little sleep that night or the next as it was the same again. I realise that different rules apply in different countries but I felt this was totally wrong and informed the owner so on his return. Telling him that I was very frightened and that this sort of thing should not happen. |

Depués de leer algunos comentarios tengo que decir que el hotel me sorprendió gratamente. Se trata de un pequeño hotel, sencillo pero con un personal agradable y un trato perfecto. El encargado del hotel me ayudó en todo momento. Las prestaciones del hotel son exactamente las que pagas. La habitación estaba perfectamente limpia, y el desayuno era variado. Se escucha el ruido de las personas que suben a las otras habitaciones, aunque a mi no me impidió dormir. |

Nice staff and good location. Some noice in the evening but that is what you can expect when choosing a location in the middle of the city/town. God breakfast and nice inner courtyard/patio. This is both +/- , I had booked a singel room and as I brought a younger child sent an e-mail regarding extra bed. This had not been recieved by the owner. However (and this is the +) when at sight he made a disscount even thou he gave us a standard doubbel, so i was pleased at the end. |

Ett enkelt hotell som har ett bra läge i förhållande till stranden. Enkla men välstädade rum. Orten var belamrad med pensionärer, vilket passade mig perfekt eftersom det var vila som eftersöktes! A lovely small friendly hotel with a nice courtyard garden. We had rooms overlooking the garden with balcony. Very quiet and peaceful. Eduardo was very helpful and spoke good English. Made us a good breakfast each morning. the location was perfect, we were able to walk to beach and restaurants. the only small problem we had was that the shower-head attachment in our room was broken but I am sure this will be rectified. |

De uitstekende ligging van het hotel in het centrum, met op loopafstand de winkeltjes en de boulevard en het strand. De schone kamers met redelijk goede bedden en t.v.. La relación calidad precio es muy buena, la ubicación -en pleno centro, pero en una calle muy tranquila- es inmejorable, el desayuno, por el precio que piden, es muy completo, y el señor que lleva el hotel es muy atento (nos guardó el equipaje el último día que dedicamos a pasear por el camino de ronda) tienen un patio precioso para servir los desayunos, pero al haber mal tiempo (era Semana Santa y llovía) lo tenían cerrado |

Localización He reservado el hotel con 4 días de antelación, llamé y pregunté si había parking disponible o cancelaría la reserva. El dueño me dijo que no había ningún problema, que llegara, dejara el coche en la puerta y me diría dónde estaba el parking, he preguntado si era cerca y si se podía aparcar en la puerta, dijo que sí, que sin problema, cuando llegué estaba granizando y el homrbre no quería dejarme entrar al garage sin hacer el check in, en la puerta y calle estrecha no había forma de parar sin molestar el paso de otros coches. Cuando logré hacerle entender que mi coche iba a quedar como la botella de Granini me dijo que me tenía que acompañar al parking con ''mi paraguas''!!!! A lo que he respondido que se buscara uno para no ir abrazada a este personaje, luego resulta que el parking estaba a 4 calles, se había olvidado de reservarme la plaza junto al hotel, porque otro húesped sí que tenía plaza. Llegamos al parking y era tan estrecha que no se podía abrir la puerta por el lado del conductor, debía saltar al lado opuesto y cada vez que quisiera salir o entrar, dar vueltas para llegar al hotel, coger el mando y devolverlo porque no tenían mas que un mando, arriesgandome a no poder sacar el coche cuando quisiera si por una de esas alguien no lo devolvía a tiempo. No contentos , después de una hora bajo el granizo y con golpe incluido en mi coche por la incomodidad de maniobrar en ésa calle bajo el granizo y 5 coches pitando para pasar, dice que el hotel no está pagado x booking pero que no se aceptan tarjetas, tiene el datáfono roto, otra mentira, tenía el cartel de no se aceptan tarjetas de crédito, en el 2013, cómo pueden decir que no aceptan tarjetas, no llevaba efectivo y no me quería dejar poner mis maletas en la habitación después de 1 hora. Ya me parecía subrealista cuando no contento con ésto me dice que me cobra el parking por adelantado. |
