The best thing about El Racó is undoubtedly the staff - way beyond attentive and polite, they're all warm, friendly and charming, and actively make sure you feel at home. The breakfasts are wonderful - almost everything is made in the kitchen or the local village, including an amazing array of sausages and cooked meats, as good as or better than anything I've eaten in Spain over many visits. The decor is charming - quirky but not annoyingly so - and really helps create the feel of getting away from it all. The two pools and garden areas were lovely too, though we hope to visit again when it's warm enough to swim and sunbathe! In the cooler weather the log fires in the lounge are perfect to curl up in front of in the evenings. The local town is very quaint but has almost nothing to do. Head to Peratallada for the widest range of local restaurants - Iván will be happy to recommend somewhere and book for you or just wander round the twisty streets. We also ate at Baku in Corcá, which had some of the best food we ate all trip. Nothing. |
