L'Hotel Carmen està situat a menys de 100 m de la platja, a la localitat de Roses, a la Costa Brava. Aquest petit hotel de disseny ofereix habitacions acollidores i lluminoses amb TV de pantalla plana per satèl·lit i bany privat.
El Carmen Hotel, d'estil típicament mediterrani, està ubicat en 3 cases de pescadors renovades i fou dissenyat per artistes de la zona. L'establiment està situat al centre de Roses, on hi ha moltes botigues, bars i restaurants.

A prop de Roses hi ha el bonic poble de Cadaqués i el Museu de Salvador Dalí, a Figueres.
Hotel Carmen es troba a Roses
Al sud de l’Albera, la Costa Brava s’obre a la badia de Roses: una àmplia entrada de mar a terra de 15 quilòmetres amb llargues platges de sorra i aiguamolls. El límit nord és la península del cap de Creus i el sud, el massís del Montgrí.
A extrem i extrem de la badia, Rhode i Emporion van ser la porta d’entrada al país de la cultura grega. Un i l’altre, han donat lloc a dos importants nuclis turístics: Roses al nord i l’Escala al sud.
Roses és l’encantadora localitat marinera de l’Alt Empordà que dona la benvinguda als seus visitants a les portes del Parc Natural del Cap de Creus.
Els origens de Roses es remunten al segle VIII a.C., amb l’arribada i fundació per part dels rodis, provinents de l’illa grega de Rodes. D’aquí rep el seu nom. Els intercanvis comercials i l’ocupació romana han fet d’aquest enclavament un gresol de cultures que explica el talant d’una població molt oberta, activa i generosa.
Els atractius turístics de Roses són molts, i de diversos tipus. Davant els excel·lents paisatges naturals que ofereixen les seves cales: Cala Montjoi, Cala Canyelles, Cala Jóncols, Cala Murtra, Cala Lledó, etc. destaca un turisme cultural d’enorme interés mitjançant la ruta dels dòlmens (dolmen Creu d’en Cobertella, Llit de la Generala, Cap de l’Home, Casa Cremada, etc), el Museo de la Ciutadella, el castell de Santa Trinitat, el Far de Roses, etc. Roses té a més el port pesquer més important de la Costa Brava nord.
L’oferta cultural, tradicional i esportiva de Roses es molt variada, i inclou conferències, festivals de rock i blues, exposicions, concerts de diversos tipus de música, etc. En ple estiu el poble acull un dels principals festivals de música de la Costa Brava: el de Sons del Món.
El seu port pesquer, un dels més actius de la Costa Brava, demana un passeig de tarda, quan les barcasses tornen acompanyades de les gavines.
Les seves terrasses demanen conversa i el recinte patrimonial de la Ciutadella, una visita tranquil·la. És un baluard immens que Carles v, en el segle XVI, va manar edificar per protegir la zona dels atacs de la pirateria. Dins, conserva les restes de la colònia grega de Rhode, del segle iv aC, i el monestir benedictí de Santa Maria. A Roses s’hi practiquen tots els esports de mar, tant a les platges de sorra fina del poble com també a les cales de l’Almadrava, Montjoi i Jòncols.
Si us interessen la natura i els passejos Roses us ofereix recorreguts ben senyalitzats i accessibles, en un entorn natural excepcional fruit de la combinació de mar i muntanya.
La costa de Roses és plena de contrastos. Compta amb acantilats al costat del mar, tot i que també amb cales tranquiles d’aigües transparents i poc profundes, de sorra fina, que proporcionen les condicions ideals per la pràctica d’esports nautics com ara el kayak, la pesca, la vela, el windsurf, el parapent, etc. Per totes aquestes raons la diversió en família es troba ben garantida en aquesta localitat als peus del Cap de Creus.
El destí de Roses ha estat lligat els darrers anys a la figura gastronòmica de l’excel·lent cuiner Ferran Adrià, de gran reconeixement mundial per la seva cuina innovadora. El seu cèlebre restaurant, El Bulli, situat a la paradisíaca Cala Montjoi, ha esdevingut la Fundació El Bulli, un centre pioner en la investigació culinària.

Small double room lacking drawer space, only one chair, nowhere to put suitcase. View onto huge pipes of air conditioning at back of hotel nearby. No insulation above the fridge in the cupboard, so the shelf above was too warm to use. Washbasin very shallow, showerhead in wrong place. No shelves in bathroom, so washbag had to be put on floor. In the breakfast room the toaster was faulty and only toasted one side of the bread |

Very good details like the free water, coffe, tea at any time of the hour, good brand of the schampoo/shower gel/soap in the bathroom (l'occitane), excelent breakfast with good quality products and anything you might wish for. The room was very clean and with a big terrace overlooking the sea! The bed was very comfortable, good pillows and nice sheets/ bedding. The bathroom was perfect. The only thing to think about is that the room we took was not completely sound isolated, however this was specified during the booking. Som few minor sounds that might bother the light sleeper but nothing a pair of earplugs cant solve. The hotel staff was very kind and accomodating as well as discrete which gave you a feeling of comfort and wellness! Highly recommended! Nothing to complain about. Very nice hotel, loved it! |

L'accueil familial est fantastique. Les trois frères et leur maman sont aux petits soins pour les clients qu'ils traitent plutôt comme des amis. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et varié. El Hotel está mejor de lo que esperábamos. La habitación Doble Superior es amplia igual que el baño. Los acabados de la habitación son buenos, la grifería Grohe y la bañera grande y cómoda. El personal del Hotel es muy amable y nos ayudó en todo lo que necesitamos. El desayuno es muy completo y muy bueno. Hay un parking gratuito a 150 metros del Hotel. We got the last room, which probably was the least attractive room (very dark), however it was a last minute booking. Internet connection was cumbersome, constantly needed an access code from the reception for each device. |

Excellent hotel -Close to the sea, in the city centre close to the shopping / restaurant streets -Friendly and helpful staff, gave us advice on everything from restaurants to excursions -Very clean -High quality breakfast -Good size room (had superior room) Even the smallest details were well catered for. E.g.: we were given beach towels at reception (small detail, but saved us 10 euros on buying beach towels). Also, on the last day of our visit we had to leave at 7am (before hotel breakfast), so they arranged for us to have breakfast at the hotel Rom next door, free of charge Great hotel, in all major aspects, and even to the smallest detail We were in a room that was on the road practecly so no option opening the window. Very large bathroom. Good bed and ok size TV. Good size refrigerator. Standard breakfast with option of bacon and eggs. Balcony with roof wievs, could see sea if you stand up. Near beach. Garage for once was easy to drive in and out. Otherwise silent, only seagulls had their babys and it was very noicy. No mirror in room. Second chair would be nice too. Only one sort of cheese at breakfast. Ants ants ants, if leave some food anywhere open it will be full of ants in no time. |

I agree with the other reviews. Outstanding customer service. The staff was very attentive to our needs and really did a great job taking care of us. The breakfast was also a highlight for us. Again, great staff in the breakfast area and they have a very good selection of meat, cheese, juice, yogurt, and pastries to choose from. They will serve eggs and bacon upon request as well. The rooms we had were pretty small and basic but certainly clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were nicely sized and the shower was great. Finally, the location was fantastic--just one block off the beach. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Carmen. I definitely recommend this place. Thanks again to all the staff. Well done! No mirror in room. Second chair would be nice too. Only one sort of cheese at breakfast. Ants ants ants, if leave some food anywhere open it will be full of ants in no time. |

All reception staff were excellent - really friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. The room was quite small but beautifully decorated and had a little balcony outside which was a bonus. The bathroom was very clean and included l'occitane toiletries. Delicious breakfast including eggs cooked to order - all great. No mirror in room. Second chair would be nice too. From the inside, this is really a 4* boutique hotel with multiple design elements, great attention to detail, all possible comforts and great staff. The breakfast was copious and varied and all the various parts were of good quality. The rooms were very comfortable with spacious power showers, occitane toiletries, big fluffy towels etc All over the hotel there were pieces of art and curiosities to look at which created a homely atmosphere, so unlike the sterile nature of many modern hotels. The location, although central and close to the beach was a bit seedy, although I think it was actually safe. There was no parking at or close to the hotel which is situated on a one way narrow street. Although there is a very good system in place for parking at a nearby lock up garage, it was both disconcerting and reassuring to have a 'lock up box' within the locked up car park! Also felt 10euro per night was a bit steep. Our room (at the back) faced onto the police station car park and this was quite noisy at times. It wasn't very pretty either. |

Friendly hotel just minutes from the seafront. We had a very warm welcome from Elena who was able to suggest places to eat and park for free. Loved the attention given to breakfast - a delicious buffet with eggs that could be ordered from the kitchen any way you might like them. Quiet and impeccably clean rooms with a lovely large balcony. A very enjoyable stay - thank you! The room was very small. |

We loved the breakfast. Hot eggs! Great spread. Room was adequate and clean. Close to restaurants and a gorgeous beach. Difficult to find with one way streets. It was off season and not very crowded. No upgrade in an empty hotel. Next day as we were leaving, they said they should have upgraded us since we were nice. |
