Hotel Sa Calma ist in Begur
Begur ist ein schönes Dorf im Herzen der Costa Brava, in den Bergen des gleichen Namens. In seiner Stadt, von dem elften Jahrhundert Schloss beherrscht, sind so berühmt Strände wie Aiguablava, Sa Tuna, Sa Riera, Aiguafreda, Platja Fonda oder Fornells. In der Mitte der Stadt gibt es Spuren der indischen Architektur, aus dem neunzehnten Jahrhundert.
Begur ist ein sehr hübsches Hügelstädtchen, das sich etwas landeinwärts des Meeres erstreckt. An der zerklüfteten Küste tief unterhalb von Begur verstecken sich reizende Buchten.
Begur liegt in etwa 200 Meter Höhe auf einem Massiv, das zum Landesinneren hin sanft, zur Küste aber fast dramatisch steil abfällt, und bildet so einen natürlichen Aussichtspunkt. Trotzdem ihrer privilegierten Position und des Schutzes, den das Kastell auf dem Burgberg gewährte, wurde die Siedlung im ausgehenden Mitelalter immer wieder von Piraten überfallen. Seinerzeit lebten die Bewohner von Landwirtschaft un Fischfang, aber auch von einer besonderen Spezialität des Ortes, der Korallenfischerei.
Der Fremdenverkehr in und um Begur besitzt eher einen exklusiven Anstrich. Der Grossteil der Besucher, darunter viele Katalanen, die hier ein Ferienhaus besitzen, wohnt in einer der Urbanisationen ausserhalb des Ortes selbst.
Wie Pals besitzt auch Begur sein historisches Zentrum, das sich rund um den Hauptplatz Plaça de la Vila erstreckt. Ins Auge fällt hier eine Reihe hübscher, als “Casas Indianos” bezeichneter Häuser, die in einer Art karibischem Kolonialstil errichtet wurden, Ihre Bauherren, die sogennaten “Indianos” oder “Americanos”, waren im 19. Jh. nach Kuba ausgewandert und später als reiche Männer in ihre Heimat zurückgekehrt. Noch heute besitzt der Ort eine besondere Beziehung zu Kuba.

El desayuno nos encanto, un detalle el zumo de naranja natural y la buena calidad de los embutidos se notan. Con la estancia va incluida 1 hora de spa, no es muy grande, pero sufiente para la privacidad que dan al estar la pareja solos en el recinto es muy de agradecer. The public room and bedrooms are superb and vey well kept. Our bedroom was very comfortable the the bathroom in particular was excellent. Bar location is good and the drinks very friendly and extreemly generous , more than one Gin would be dangerous... Dining was good but menu limited and more international than Spanish; but there are a wealth of restaurants in the area. |

It's a beautiful house with lots of open spaces to relax and enjoy. Room and bathroom spacious and airy.The rooftop terrace with Jacuzzi and loungers is really great. Staff friendly and helpful. No bottle opener available to open water/soft drinks in mini bar and no one in reception to provide one. No nearby shop to purchase water. Think they should provide free plastic bottles of water. |

Hotel Sa Calma is a gorgeous hotel and we had an extremely relaxing stay there. The staff was excellent and made us feel very welcome our entire stay. They have a chess and a backgammon table in a beautiful sitting area and it was great to see my two older boys having a blast challenging each other in a game of chess upon our arrival. My wife and I really enjoyed the use of the sauna both nights--very relaxing. The breakfast up on the rooftop terrace was excellent and once again the staff really did a nice job taking care of us. They had fresh orange juice, fried eggs on request, breads and pastries, jams, fresh fruit, coffee, along with various meats and cheeses. Our favorite beach was only a ten minute drive and they have private parking (15 Euro/day) right next to the hotel. Wi-fi was adequate and if it's not working they'll have to reboot the router for you. Overall a fantastic, relaxing stay at this wonderful hotel. You'll love it!!! For the price of the hotel parking should be included. |

The decor and attention to detail made this a beautifully appointed boutique hotel. it is located right in the center of the quiet village of Begur. The breakfasts on the patio are superb with great food selection and quality. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It was one of the most pleasant hotel experiences we've had and we travel a lot! TV without bad signal |
