This Gothic building, built in 1336, in the Middle Age, was a court (curia) and a prison. Inside you will still appreciate the old and unhealthy cells, behind a thick door with a single point of light, around a central courtyard guarded by a guard. In the walls of some of these cells still retain the inscriptions made by the prisoners, centuries ago.

In the same museum there is a room dedicated to the Jewish quarter, with a collection of matzewoth or old tombstones from the Jewish cemetery (one of the most important in Catalonia), a model of Castelló d'Empúries village from fourteenth century and an video about the Ampurias County.
